Recommended Restaurants in Kuala Lumpur – Editor's Pick, based on foodies' reviews
Boathouse
The food there good and service excellent.
summerkid posted www.malaysianflavours.com 568 ReviewsGood thing is worth waiting. Reserve 25 minutes of preparation for this Cherry Dark Chocolate Souffle. Fluffy light, melt in mouth chocolate custard meringue baked over highest heat, coupled well with run soaked pitted cherries laid at the bottom for refreshing, sourish touch.
Sassorosso
TheYumList posted theyumlist.blogspot.com 552 ReviewsReason to visit: incredible wine selection including an exclusive range of fine wines and too excellent wines available by the glass; duck ravioli; gnocchi; lamb; crab salad; chocolate flan... okay... everything!
Zipangu
The interior of the restaurant is most impressive. There is a huge selection of wine, with a dedicated room surrounded by walls made of wine cellars, there is even a dedicated cigar room. The ambiance is mellow and yet classy, no rowdy crowd nor screaming babies.

Robson Heights Seafood Restaurant
Pas De Nom posted chillout-soulout-freakout.blogspot.com 471 ReviewsOverall, I do not really impressed with this restaurant because of their bad seafood which is not really good at all (not as fresh as what their signboard has stated).
Prime
A fine dining Steakhouse serving Western fare
taufulou posted www.taufulou.com 674 ReviewsIf you are looking for a really good steak that will never disappoint you, then PRIME is one of the place that serve best steak in KL area.
Cilantro Restaurant
the ambiance is very nice with the minimalistic deco, a Zen like environment.
Pas De Nom posted chillout-soulout-freakout.blogspot.com 471 ReviewsOverall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to all of you even though the price would be very expensive. Well, it is a great place for a celebration.
Restoran Jalan Tanjung Dua
carene 19 posted lovewinter19.blogspot.com 90 ReviewsSuperbThe stir-fried spaghetti with side dishes like grilled meats, nuggets and hams are yummy and tantalizing!
The Ming Room
The Ming Room is possibly one of the finest chinese restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, and gives a 'fine dining' experience outside of the usual hotel chinese restaurants
pinkroselle postedBadBeen here on weekday at 1.20pm and wait for 18 mins only have someone help us to placed an order. Is a guy wearing coat, I think he is captain. He did not even repeat our order and just take the order bill away. 2 of us ordered 4 dim sum and 1 roast pork. Wait for another an hour which is about 2.40pm, and many attempts of chasing with the waiter/waitress, only been told that the roast port is finish, and served us 2 dim sum. At around 3.00pm which is more than 1 and half hour since we reach, there are still 2 dim sum have not even come out. Call again the waiter, waitress, and waitress but their reaction seem like already use to customer chasing and waiting. Not even any apology given, which the coffee shop service is much more better than here. We understand it need time to served the crowd but excused me..we only ordered DIM SUM, which suppose to serve faster than the order to cook dishes. We did not faced this kind of service in The Garden outlet. No doubt the food here is good, but with this kind or lousy service, we will definitely not come again.
Restaurant Lai Po Heen
posted goodyfoodies.blogspot.com 33 ReviewsDim sum is available daily at Lai Po Heen, Mon-Fri 12.00pm - 2.30pm, Sat-Sun 10.30am - 2.30pm.
Restoran Soong Kee
It has more than 60 years of history. This is a nice air-conditioned little shop located near Pudu Bus Station and Chinatown that serves Beef balls in soup with wantan-stylenoodles topped with minced pork meat. They have been in operations for a long time and are quite famous… having been reviewed by many others.
harrycath posted www.harrycath.com 20 ReviewsExceptionalThis is yet another been-there-so-often-it’s-taken-for-granted kind of restaurant. We have a special affection for anything related to beef noodles, and it’s our second favourite kind of dish after Bak Kut Teh.. this is THE place for beef noodles in KL, bar none!
Taro Ramen Japanese Noodle Restaurant
harrycath posted www.harrycath.com 20 ReviewsSuperbBut unlike other establishments in the near vicinity, we like Taro Ramen for trying its best to remain as authentic to the original Japanese cuisine it represents as possible.
La Bodega
isaactan posted www.isaactan.net 327 ReviewsFor dessert, we had cheese cake with ice cream, passion fruit cream and strawberries terrine which includes a glass of Cava.
Kedai Makanan Ban Lee 万利肉骨茶餐室
A "bak kut teh" shop that is a crowd puller. The meat’s fantastic, as I asked for them to ensure there’s more fats than meat. That’s precisely what I received, along with some ribs and some vegetables. As for the soup? I feel that there’s abit too much MSG for my taste
vkeong posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsBesides Bak Kut Teh they also serve poached chicken that seem to be a hit as well with the customers. Their Sang Kuat BKT which requires early booking is said to be excellent too.
Gonbei
Japanese Restaurant located amidst a posh environment. The interior of this restaurant is superb, everything was perfectly planned and designed. There are 5 different counters in this restaurant, Sake, Robatayaki (炉端焼き), Teppanyaki (鉄板焼き), Sushi (寿司) and Tempura (天ぷら). Gonbei has the largest collection of Japanese sake and shochu in Malaysia.
malaysiacuisine.com posted www.malaysiacuisine.com 127 ReviewsSuperbI finally got to walk along the bamboo arches of Gonbei San's authentic fine dining buffet in Starhill Gallery. Located at the same level as Jogoya Japanese Restaurant, I find Gonbei San delivers a different perspective of their buffet concept.
Alexis Bistro & Wine Bar
Their wood-fired pizza oven is always in demand, and their lovely weekend lunches are very popular with families. And during weekend nights, their acclaimed programme of jazz performances showcases internationally renowned musicians and local legends, earning rave reviews and drawing wildly enthusiastic crowds.
Pas De Nom posted chillout-soulout-freakout.blogspot.com 471 ReviewsExceptionalOverall, this restaurant will be a place I will dine and hangout frequently from now on because of their live performance. Okay...okay...I know...I know...I gotta admit that actually I will be back for their Irish Fresh Oyster.
