Also highly recommended is their Steamed fish fillet (usually threadfin salmon, grouper, or you can go all out and order the “loong dan” or estuary grouper) with homemade noodles, scallions and ginger. Or try their Fish Noodle Soup; made out of real fish hence lending an inherent sweetness to the pot of soup; complete with a QQ texture (al dente) that spoke volume of its freshness.
One step into Kedai Biskut Sin Eng Heong, you can practically smell the aroma of freshly baked biscuits everywhere. The most popular biscuit sold in the shop is their Fluffy Kaya Puff.

For Papa and Mamarazzi, they are very delicious. The skin have just the right texture and the paste....not sure how to describe the paste....it's not entirely smooth till creamy like...texture more like there is something to chew on..just like people use hand to "lenyek" the beans instead of use machine. That was what they like about it.
From a little setup back in 1991, it is well known for serving up delicious food and has attracted many famous and celebrity patrons through the years. The restaurant facade itself was colourful and stepping into the bright, clean and spacious setup brought us relief from the scorching sun.

Assam House Restaurant @ Medan Gopeng, Ipoh

We had a few pieces on the spot and all I can say is that they are delicious especially when they are still warm. There’s a good amount of egg custard in every piece and fills up almost 90% of the shell. The sweetness of the rich and almost molten custard is just spot on and you can clearly smell and taste the buttery aroma. Other specialties to try: Swiss Roll, coconut tarts, walnut cookies and Sachima (萨其马). Come as early as possible to avoid disappointments.
Using fresh fruits/vegetables with no preservatives were advised to finish them up within 3 days.

No mass production, no preservatives and low in sugar, the swiss rolls are produced using the natural & fresh fruits and vegetables. JJ Swiss rolls should be kept refrigerated and highly recommended to be eaten in 3 days due to there’s no preservatives added.

Nice chill out in Ipoh. Love the ambience and friendly service.
THE Tan brothers have been churning out two goodies Ipoh seems to be associated with – soyabean milk and curd – since the early 1950s. Product and service quality have remain unchanged. You can either stop your vehicle in front of the stall, signal a little and the workers will deliver your orders. Or walk to the stall and get your drinks after a short wait.

If you're lazy to queue in the line under the scorching sun, queue by sitting in your car and the staff of Funny Mountain will bring your orders all the way to your vehicle. Savouring smooth tau fu fah within the comforts of your car seems way too good, no?
It is located behind Tesco.

The Fried Eggplant/Brinjal (RM8, small) was the other dish recommended by the waitress and it was tasty. For one who doesn't take eggplant, i took this. The other Fried Eggplant i had was in Ijok but unlike that, this was cut into thin strips. Felt like i was eating potatoes. I can imagine this as a finger food, eating only this while watching a movie. Eggplant is good for health, but (being health conscious awhile) i learned that fried in oil isn't the same as it absorbs the oil. Guilty pleasure.
Specializing in authentic and delicious Nyonya Kuih from Kampar
Rare gem in Ipoh to satisfy crave for Nyonya kuih. This stall is managed by a couple where the wife makes all kueh the traditional way for years . They recently re-locate their stall to the Restoran Aleef at Canning Garden. Easy to find as it face the main road (the row of shops behind the market) Love her kuih for their homemade & authentic flavor ;not like those commercial imports, please! You can taste the difference the moment you sink your teeth into any of her kueh. She makes her daily and they are sold off mostly by lunch time. So each batches of her kueh are made fresh! Famous for her ang koo (including the rare black types) ,kuih talam and many more. Writing this makes me feel like having one of her kueh with my kopi-o now ! Try them out !

It prides in being the first in Ipoh to serve UK 's popular sundae,Knickerboxer Glory & Americans' favourite sundae, Dusty Road, among others. Ask for Freezing Point's set meals that are very good in value. Prices do not vary between its set lunch & set dinner .Set meals starts from RM 11,90 onwards . Also try its burgers (especially its homemade Pork Burger! ) sandwiches , All-Day Breakfast & egg omelettes.(Non-halal) Freezing Point also caters for private gatherings & parties in its cafe. It can plan for any celebration with specially-designed party sets with even games and special themes.
Tried their new pasta menu which is a new addition to the menu . Sauce for the pasta just the right touch and prices are reasonable . A nice variety besides its grilled menu.
Kong Heng restaurant is my favourite visit every time I am at Ipoh. This changed one day wheny family arrived at the restaurant late at 3pm and many of the stalls were closing. The chicken rice stall owner welcome us and we ordered from him. Bad experience started when the chicken rice stall owner deliver the food and my wife questioning the price inconsistency. The chicken rice stall owner clarify the price and become agitated, started raising his voice and claimed that we unfairly accused him charging excessive. I have to calm him down! He keep on raising his voice on us for a minute. I did not choose to quarrel with him as I do not want to show bad example to my daughter. His chicken rice is okay but the very poor service and attitude toward customer make us stop visiting to Kong Heng again. Other stalls in the restaurant services are good by Malaysia standard. The chicken rice stall leave a very bad name to Kong Heng restaurant Ipoh. I do not think I am the first customer to get bad experience from him. I advise future customer not to question or argue with him in order to have peaceful meal.
