It is not the best suckling pig but this is acceptable. Unfortunately, we were quite wrong for ordering this because we have no chance to try other awesome foods like ribs and sausages because this portion is too much for 2.

I will highly recommend for big groups to come to this great restaurant. Not really suitable for couples because the restaurant is quite noisy. Pre-booking is highly encouraged to avoid disappointment. If possible, order your desired food in advance as well because some of their signature dishes requires long hours to prepare.

When you’re stumped for a place to go, you can’t go too wrong with what is probably the pork restaurant pioneer in KL.

I reckon that El Cerdo is not the place you visit every week unless you plan to audition for Asia’s Biggest Loser. I myself reserve such indulgences to very rare occasion so that when the moment comes you just eat like no tomorrow. Pricing is a little steep too. The bill for the five of us came to about Rm 80 per person. Service is very attentive. Usually at night the owner, Werner will personally drop by to say hi and ask how things are going or personally serve you. They also usually serve complimentary items like soups and digestives; small little gestures but it goes a long way.

German Crispy Knuckle – Luckily this didn’t put my pork’s quota to waste (I limit myself from eating too much pork). The fats layer had a Jell-O like texture, I didn’t know I was actually eating a layer of “bad” fats. The skin was undoubtedly crispy.

Steamed Egg Yolk Custard Bun, 3 for RM6. It’s the first time I had this and we find them very pleasant! Liquefied egg yolk burried mountainously inside the steaming custard bun.. Ooo. Absolutely lovely
