Chrys enjoys exploring places of all sorts, especially places with good food and beautiful scenery. With enough cash and time, she looks for friends to go on roadtrips to widen her world perspective and to go on makan (eating) expeditions to expand her gastronomic vocabulary. Chrys divides her time between the cities of Kuala Lumpur and Sydney. Her verbal and photographic accounts could be found at chryshijing.blogspot.com and are all personal notes to herself, as reminders of what a wonderful journey she has had in life.
Foodie Review
Croissant Delicatessen
Cash transactions only. Shopping complex carpark. Limited seating but takeaway available.
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com 55 ReviewsSuperbIt would be a pity not to try their coffee since they source their coffee beans from the reputable WA Cafe. The croissant, eaten on its own with no fillings, especially when just out of the oven, is delicious!

Let It Rain Cafe
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbHow unique is "Let It Rain"? Or in Mandarin, 下雨吧, which literally means just rain. Like, aiya, just rain la... how apt for the scorching hot weather in KL at the moment. The set up of the cafe is pretty simple and being creative people, there was evident use of recycled and inexpensive material. More importantly, they welcome visitors warmly.
Le Pont Boulangerie
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbI found out about Le Pont Boulangerie through David, their in-house coffee expert, whom I recently got to know through his smaller venture across the road. Coincidentally, it was their official opening the day I visited his smaller venture with Ray. Too many people and too many cars deterred me from visiting Le Pont to congratulate them.....
Bakeology Cafe
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbCheryl dabbled in a few things before settling down to start a family and completed a pastry course. During my younger years, Dad would share stories from the office relating to how she was helping Aunty Millie in the kitchen. Rest assured that food here is served from the heart, as Cheryl has been practicing her craft from young.
Les Deux Garcons
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbWhat else would you order from a French dessert place? Cakes and all that, of course!
Fishee Coffee
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsGoodI have not had such tasty classic waffle in a long time, especially in KL
Midsummer Night Cafe
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbLocated above a car workshop, this unassuming cafe is the brainchild and a side hobby/income of Jon, a person who lectures at a local institution. It is obvious from the interior decor that he is someone who is really into the movie business. Or at least, arts and entertainment.
Cakes De Lemari

chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsGoodThere were so many flavours to choose from! The chiller was so colourful from the different cupcakes!
The Owls Cafe
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbWhat is in a name? Well, everything. This cafe is called The Owls Cafe and naturally would carry an owl theme. As I love owls, I love everything in this cafe - the mural, the decor, the teapots, everything! You can say that I instantly had a cafe crush, if there existed such a thing.
Unkaizan Japanese Restaurant
Unkaizan enjoys a hillside location with stunning sunset views over the Andaman Sea.
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbWe found out about Unkaizan through TripAdvisor. It is situated slightly off the main road, on a very steep part of the hill, which made parking the car very interesting. We noticed that some of their wait staff were actually Japanese and immediately we felt, okay, we may end up having a really authentic Japanese experience. Starting with warm towels and green tea with oomph, things were looking promising.
La Chocolatine
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbIt was really French French, as in the owner was a Fenchman who is a very experienced pastry chef who now calls Malaysia home.
Restoran Weng Heong Bak Kut Teh
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbMany KLites and Selangorians purposely make trips to Klang for this dish and everyone would have their personal favourite restaurant. My personal favourite is Restoran Weng Heong in Taman Intan.
Basil Pasta House
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbApparently, this place was started by three brothers and I had a feeling that either one of them or all of them had some proper Italian cuisine training of some sort because I spied with my little eye the different types of pasta they had! I was impressed at how they made everything from scratch. However, this meant that our food took longer to prepare, which had us waiting for quite some time.
I'm Not a Chef
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsGoodThe cafe is operated by two friends. One looked after the floor and drinks while the other looked after the kitchen and hot meals. I do not recall if both or one of them were in New Zealand and incorporated some of the Kiwiness into the cafe.
