Kwong Eats .... by kwong.yong
Tean's Kitchen
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsEverything I had was really good especially their Dry Bak Kut Teh. For those that has never had it you should definitely give it a try!
Kafe Heng Huat 興發茶室
Kuey Teow was fried under charcoal fire.
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsHowever with only one meal to spare in Penang we decided to visit Kafe Heng Huat and try out the famous Sister's Char Koay Teow.
House of Tang
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsOverall I had mixed feelings about the Dim Sum served at House of Tang. Some were good such as the Sizzling Marinated Meat Bun, Steam Shrimp Dumpling and the Stir-Fried Turnip Cake.
Grand Imperial Restaurant
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsIt was perfectly steamed and the texture was firm with the Soy Sauce not overpowering the Fish.
Lafite
Soak in the luxurious ambience of Lafite, and enjoy its classic French dishes and excellent collection of wines.
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsOverall the food at Lafite was excellent. Favorites of mine included the Risotto, Tuna Tartar and Braised Short Rib. If only the desserts were better this meal would have been close to perfect.
Hakka Rang Restaurant
Parking is relatively easy to find here and the best part is that it is still free. Don't know how long that will be so though. The furnishing of the restaurant is quite old school with wooden tables and chairs, even the tea sets are old school. Food wise, we're talking about Hakka dishes, one of my favourite.
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsNearly everything we had at Hakkan Ran was good especially their Stir-Fried Abacus Seeds and Deep Fried Omelet with Rice Wine. In my opinion this is definitely the best alternative to my mum's Hakka Dishes.
Village Park Restaurant
A lot of positive feedbacks are given to their lauk pauk, nasi dagang and noodles too. We will definitely come back to give it a try, will be having a hard time to resist ourselves from ordering the nasi lemak again. Village Park is operated by a Chinese-Muslim husband-wife team. Service for food is fast. Iced Special White Coffee (RM2.50), Kedondong juice & sour plum (RM2.50), Nasi Dagang Set (RM5.40), Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng (RM6.80),
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsVillage Park definitely serves up one of the city's best Nasi Lemak. But what surprised me most was the other food we had such as the Curry Laksa and Toast which was also pretty good!
Sheng Huat
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsOverall I must say Sheng Huat probably serves up one of the best "KL Version" Bak Kut Teh around the city and a killer Braised Pork Trotter.
Yut Kee Kopitiam 鎰記茶餐室
Yut Kee is one of the grand old lady of the Kuala Lumpur kopitiam scene having been established since 1928. Today it's being run by the third generation of the family.
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsWhat I loved most however was the atmosphere at Yut Kee which reminded us of what a real traditional Kopitiam was like.
Thai Garden Village
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsOverall the food was good at Thai Garden Village. I would definitely want to give this place a re-visit to sample my other favorite Thai Dishes such as Som Tam and Curry Crab.
Sen Tsuru Japanese Restaurant
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsSen Tsuru in my opinion offers the best Japanese Buffet in KL.
Penang Village
Penang Village was started with the intention of having good Malaysian local food & Penang Nyonya Cuisine under one roof in a friendly, comfortable & air-conditioned environment. 1st outlet was established in Desa Seri Hartamas in May 2000 while the 2nd outlet was located in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail in August 2001. After a successful response in TTDI outlet, the achievement opened the door for the 3rd outlet which was placed in Subang jaya, USJ 9 & in October 2004 the 4th outlet was opened in Alamanda Putrajaya Mall.
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsPenang Village in my opinion is a perfect place for people that are craving for some Penang Food but would want to have it in a restaurant setting.
NEO
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsOverall the one thing that stood out was the plating of the dishes.
The Latest Recipe
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsThe price if I’m not mistaken for lunch is the same as Dinner. However if the quality of most of their dishes were consistently this good, I would rather come in during Lunch, leaving me some time to work off the food in evening.
Shang Palace
kwong.yong posted kwongeats.blogspot.com 95 ReviewsPrice wise, Shang Palace is quite a good deal especially if you’re a Prestige Card Member since it offers a 15% discount of the RM58 per pax ++ price tag for their all-you-can-eat menu.
