Foodie Review
Marche Movenpick Restaurant
In Movenpick Marche Restaurant. You get to see for yourself the freshness and quality of the produce; smell what’s baking in the ovens; hear the food sizzling; and watch the food being prepared right in front of your eyes, fresh from the “market”. Marché (pronounced as Mar-shay), stands for 'market' in French and goes by the motto “Eat in a colourful market-place atmosphere”.
d_luaz postedGoodI felt fascinated by this place during the first visit, and found it "pricey" on the second visit many years ago. Went back here recently for a group dinner, where a mommy really like this place because there is a playground for her child to run around (kudos to Marche). I guess the food is nice and fresh, have a warm feelings and the staff are fairly polite and friendly. Mashed Potato, Seafood Pasta and Seafood Soup is good. Rosti seems popular, but I felt that it could be improved further (perhaps too dry or hard?). I would give it 2 love if only it's slightly more affordable, so that I could come back often :) Prices: * Chicken Sausage Cheese: RM 10.90 * Mashed Potato: RM 2.90 * Pasta Seafood Large: RM 36.90 * Seafood Soup: RM 9 * Mix Sautee Mushroom: RM 10.90 * Plain Rosti: RM 8.90 * Smoked Turkey: RM 6.90 * Homemade Lemonade: RM 6.50
I Love Hokkien Mee
d_luaz postedSuperbThe 1st visit is quite good, the 2nd visit was slightly disappointed. I would avoid this place on weekends due to large crowds (which might affect the quality), but anyway in Puchong is crowded on weekend. The Hokkien Mee (RM 7) and Loh Mee in indeed not bad, probably the best in Puchong. Something wrong with their drink menu, the "leong char" always not available. Price: * Cantonese Fried Yee Mee: RM 7 * Apple Juice: RM 3
D'Rich
D'Rich is a story of a group of food lovers led by a couple name STANWIN. This group of food lovers and their love for good food spurred an out-of-the-box thinking. Partnering with Master Chef Yong, a chef with over 30 years of experience in culinary cooking, the team created food that's good and pleasing to the senses.
d_luaz postedSuperbWe do comeback here for supper or breakfast once in a while, due easy parking, and the quality of food is not bad, a something "special" as compared to standard kopitiam menu. My wife like the Sambal Fried Rice, and the Nasi Lemak is not bad. Definitely not crowded, reasonable service. Price: * Braised Mutton Noddle: RM 12.90 * D'rich Coffee O Hot: RM 2.60 * Longan Milk Honey Ice: RM 5.90
Restorant Ipoh Sedap 食好料, SS2
d_luaz postedGoodI tried the Chee Cheong Fun (RM 4.20), which I felt is okay, but my dad says it's no good (no taste). They sell some Pomelo as well.
Vietnam Kitchen
The place is beautiful and cosy. The restaurant occupies an open space in the shopping center that is decorated with pretty Vietnamese lamps and plenty of drum lights.
d_luaz postedGoodWent there for a family lunch, with plenty of big table. Reasonable food, reasonable price, and good service. Somehow, it just doesn't appeal to me to come back (not my cup of tea). Price: * Vietnam Tea: RM 4.50 * Red Bean Coco: RM 6.90 * Sea Food Noodle: RM 13.90
Killiney Kopitiam
Take a walk back to the "good old days", where you have a chance to enjoy food and beverages prepared in the traditional way. Be charmed by the hustle and bustle of the seemingly never-ending activities. Coupled with the rich aroma of our freshly brewed coffee, and tantalizing fragrance of our warm kaya toast, this is “the Killiney Experience". Here is a place where one can rest one’s weary feet and embrace the joys of the past.
d_luaz postedGoodAt the strategic entrance of Sooka Sentral, Killiney Kopitiam is a convenient for meetup (and a cheaper alternative to Starbucks next door). The photo of the menu could use some help (the sausage doesn't look appetizing), and I chosen the best looking food: Nasi Lemak Kampung. The food is okay, still got room for improvement. Service is decent. Price: * Kampung Fried Rice: RM 9.40 * Teh Tarik: RM 3.20
PappaRich
Papparich Group was established in 2005 with its 1st outlet in Selayang Mall. Today PappaRich has grown extensively and with a total of 50 outlets nationwide and continuously growing rapidly. We are emerging as a formidable player in the local food and beverage chain. The popularity of lifestyle Malaysian Delights outlets is attributed largely to the introduction of its high quality food offering.
d_luaz postedSuperbPappaRich does have a few good dishes under its sleeve: Instant Noodle (the soup taste good), Organic Soya Milk (expensive, but a healthy alternative to coffee and tea), fried Kway Teow, and good variety of vegetation dishes. This Puchong Jaya's branch service is much better than the Bandar Puteri ones; perhaps the owner/manager do swing in once in a while, especially on weekends. Kudos! Prices: * Instand Noodle: RM 6.90 * Soyamilk Pudding + Cincau: RM 6.80 * Soyamilk Tong Yun: RM 5.50 * Steam Roti with Butter and Kaya: RM 4.20
Little Italy
The restaurant has a nice decoration and even has a mock gondola which a couple can dine in.
d_luaz postedBadThough the price is really affordable, but the deco and quality of food is not really up to my taste (you get what you pay for). They have a wooden boat table+chair in the restaurant, but it just doesn't "feel" right; maybe the workmanship is too rough.
Jin Xuan Hong Kong Dim Sum
d_luaz postedSuperbOne of the Top 3 place for Dim Sum breakfast in Puchong, and it has a branch in Damansara Jaya (we used to drive all the way there to have breakfast). The queue is long, luckily they are very organize with their numbering system, with waiting chairs, so you won't have to wait for more than 15 minutes. They have noodle and chicken rice as well, but I am not a fan of them. They have some new "innovations" for dim sum as at times :)
Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant
Daorae serves a wide variety of Korean dishes. Daorae operates by the motto ‘the customers is always right’, thus their main objective is to provide good services to their customers.
d_luaz postedSuperbDaorae is a fairly good Korean restaurant franchise, where customers sit on the wooden floor-like with holes in it, the free to refill side dishes, and of cause the expensive and delicious BBQ meat. The service is quick and friendly, and it is not too crowded.
Sakae Sushi
Sakae Sushi IOI Mall Puchong (New Wing) – Malaysia First Sushi Restaurant Design For Kids
d_luaz postedSuperbAmong all the Sushi franchise, I think Sakae Sushi is something above the average. Their computer-based ordering system is quite fun, but I think the user friendliness still have rooms for improvement, perhaps an iPhone or Android version just for the fun of it? For the Puchong branch, the service is not up to speed during weekend and holiday dinner. Hopefully they can improve on this.
Hai Siang Kopitiam
Hai Siang is not promoting white coffee, they are selling mostly old type "kopi" by Hai Peng.
d_luaz postedSuperbI personally quite like Hai Siang kopitiam, for its old-shop deco, black hai ping coffee, chubby boss and one more thing: it doesn't feels or taste like other kopitiam franchise (it's unique). I like the black coffee (dark brown actually) with fried you char guai, with egg mayo or egg and ham (deadly combo) sandwidth. It had a reasonable lunch set called si dan fan as well, pretty alright for office lunch. I hope this place will keep operating, for the sake of its one of a kind uniqueness :)
Poon Kee Dessert 潘记糖水
Poon Kee
d_luaz postedGoodMy first impression is that it doesn't look like a modern dessert place (due to it's deco), but the menu tell me otherwise. It serve reasonable chee cheong fun and slightly below average dessert (mango sago and kiwi 西米露). There selection is not bad, just that the quality of the food could use some improvement. The place is semi-crowded slightly after dinner time, seems like business is not bad. One more thing, the photo of the food doesn't look very appetizing, can and should be improved!
Hong Kong Food Culture 港饮港食粥面餐厅
A Restaurant that offers Hong Kong style of food & milk tea
d_luaz postedSuperbA pretty decent place for hong kong styled meal, with anything from rice, noodle to club sandwich. I have the sweet and sour rib rice set lunch with a drink (on top of the free chinese tea they always serve); the source is thick, but the pork is slightly fat, but still taste good while warm. This place is not super crowded during lunch (just nice), probably due to its RM10+ price range. curry Personally, I think the highlight is their street snack stall outside their shop, selling curry fishball and sour plum soup.
Sopoong

d_luaz postedGoodIt's a small open korean restaurant, cozy with korean music. I order noodle set no3: ddeokboggi (rice cake with chilly sauce and fishball) and ramyun (korean noodle), comes with salad, kimchi and tea for RM 16.90. The noodle is okay, side dishes of salad and kimchi is reasonable; rice cake is a bit not up to par. I think it's an ok lunch places for those who work around here. Ddeokbokggi+Ramyun Set: RM 16.90
