Foodie Review
Hakka Zhan Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe Mui Choy Pork (RM15/USD5) and Steamed Jenak Fish Teochew style (RM19/USD6) were both evidences of excellence in the culinary department; transforming homely dishes into delicious feasts served in this restaurant.
Hakka Rang Restaurant
Parking is relatively easy to find here and the best part is that it is still free. Don't know how long that will be so though. The furnishing of the restaurant is quite old school with wooden tables and chairs, even the tea sets are old school. Food wise, we're talking about Hakka dishes, one of my favourite.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsA little pricey given the small portions of the food served but this is in the midst of a business area; hence still considered reasonable.
Brewster's Cafe
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 Reviews“Have a happy week dining with your loved ones, dearest Ipoh friends”
Fay Loo Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsYes, we will definitely be back for round two.
Restaurant Jyu Raku
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe restaurant has an upper floor where dining in complete serenity may be a more viable option compared to seated in front of the sushi bar and kitchen, yet we did not mind the experience one bit.
Fat Spoon
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsWill be on the radar for another round or two for at least they serve comfort food at reasonable prices instead of charging an arm and a leg for homemade fares you probably won’t find within the same premise elsewhere.
Pun Chun Noodle House
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsA good choice if you have a craving for good noodles served with a variety of delectable cuts of pork, chicken or duck … especially the duck drumstick, and at a reasonable price to boot.
Restoran Mek T
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsVery affordable, and dare I say a relatively good option had you decided to try what Terengganu has to offer without having to fly over to the state.
Chatz Brasserie
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsFor this review session, I enjoyed the Ayam Buah Keluak, Nasi Ulam, Otak-Otak and Terung Sambal Udang Kering the most.
Devi’s Corner
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe service left much to be desired, and the Indian flatbreads were good. Not stellar, but above average. The fish curry was an absolute charmer;
Restoran Soo Kee
SOO KEE Restaurant, located opposite the SEA Park market, is one of the legends of the Klang Valley eating scene.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsSoo Kee capitalizes on the lack of honourable hawker fares in KL/PJ that bring forth the sense of rendezvous to one who misses Ipoh food; “Kai See Hor Fun” (Ipoh’s style of chicken noodle soup; served with Hor Fun/flat rice noodles ONLY) to be exact.
Annie 1 Cafe
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsIn summary, come here for a no-frills breakfast, lunch or dinner, and yes … I believe that this could be the next best alternative outside of Ipoh for classic Ipoh street food.
Zhi Yin Yang Yan Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe entire menu actually consisted of various interesting dishes; from various steamed fishes to chicken and pork dishes, as well as a myriad of vegetable dishes to complement the proteins.
Cathay Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsTruthfully, the chops were not up to par. The pork being slightly too tough (it was a real man’s meat alright!) and the dory had that unpleasant muddy taste.
Restoran Xin Quan Fang
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsAt Xin Quan Fang, you should really go for the curry soup version instead. That being said, I’m slowly swaying my votes for BEST Curry Mee in Ipoh to this stall instead of Nam Chau, given the sometimes inconsistent quality of the dry curry noodles served by the latter.
