Devi’s is cheap and cheerful - its an institution - and there is no better place to go to fill that void or treat yourself to a calorie-loaded platter of serious comfort food with a laughable pricetag.

The service left much to be desired, and the Indian flatbreads were good. Not stellar, but above average. The fish curry was an absolute charmer;

The food was plentiful, tasty, cheap, and while the staff may have been a miserable bunch, my heart was won by the doilies, the vases and the curtains that reminded me, in some small strange way, of the chintzy sitting rooms of my home country.
