Motormouth J2Kfm aka Motormouth
Foodie Review
Wong Hoi San Pork Organ Pepper Soup
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsNo proper signboard or address, so I guess you just have to look for THIS blue and green sign above the stall.
Greentown Dim Sum Cafe
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsEverything’s steamed and fried freshly before served, hence you can imagine the wait if the crowd is thick. When we were there, the shop was about 50% occupied, and we had to brace a 20-minutes wait for the first item to arrive. Then a couple of minutes in between each serving. A compromise for FRESHNESS, maybe?
Sin Hup Heng Chaozhou Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe dishes came in smaller portions than we expected, which was okay since we requested for small servings in view of there were only 3 of us. But safe to say, you can go all out and order more if you wanted to, since everything went well with copious servings of porridge with sweet potatoes, or rice.
Brownies
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThey of course, cater to special requests for cakes, and even cupcakes with beautiful, intricate frosting and sugar artworks.
Teochew Porridge & Rice Stall (Ah Jik’s) @ Comeson
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThis area could be the BEST place (aside from Ipoh old town, maybe) in Ipoh for food hunting.
Restoran Kar Heong
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe roasted chicken and BBQ pork (char siew) were good, though did not register themselves as entirely memorable from that initial experience. Maybe a few more visits will do the trick.
Restoran Yat Yeh Hing
This restaurant is well known for its “Yellow Chicken”. The steam chicken is yellowish as it is a corn fed chicken. The ABC potato soup comes with unlimited refill. The chili taste pretty good too. Offer one of the best chicken rice.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsCertainly a place that I will find myself returning time and again, given the acceptable distance from my place, and the abundance of parking around the vicinity.
Sri Ananda Bahwan
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsTrust me. The other Evening Special dishes taste as intriguing as they may sound. Don’t go for the generic Thosai, Roti Canai or Chapati here. Ask for recommendations if you would.
Ampang Loke Yun Chicken Rice (安邦乐园鸡饭)
The chicken here is steamed and unlike some places where you'll get a chicken with a thick layer of skin & fat, Loke Yun uses very 'healthy' chicken. The layer of skin is very thin & the fat almost non existent. So health conscious diners will find this appealling.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsI’d say. To me, Loke Yun projects a very positive image; serving good old Hainanese style of chicken rice in Ampang without compromising on the quality and portions, or falling prey to the lure of commercialization which leads to dilution of quality/values inevitably.
Restoran Bubur Goreng
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsWill return for the crabs (HUGE ones, from the finger-licking experience I witnessed from the neighbouring tables), and whatever else they might be dishing up to appease this insatiable appetite.
Chuk Lum Vegetarian Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsOh, in case you’re wondering why the ramblings and how could they be related to Chuk Lum Restaurant; one of the pioneer vegetarian restaurants in Ipoh? They’re not.
Restoran Foong Foong
The fried Wan Tans!!! Seriously this is the best I've eaten so far!!!! So BIG and juicy! *slurrp*
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsIf you ask me, is this the BEST Yong Tau Foo that I have ever eaten in my life? NO. But is this the BEST so far in Ampang, or even Kuala Lumpur and Selangor? A high probability of being a strong YES.
JJ Cakes
Using fresh fruits/vegetables with no preservatives were advised to finish them up within 3 days.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsVERDICT? A darn good choice to bring home in case you’re down in Ipoh for a trip, and wondering what else to buy beside biscuits and pomeloes. Something different, and there’s definitely a flavour to suit every taste bud.
Chooi Yue Dim Sum
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsWill I be back? Most definitely. Since that scallop dumplings alone was well worth the effort.
Take A Break Vip Lounge
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsEverything’s priced below RM10/USD3.40, so you won’t break your budget by eating here anytime of the day. Another plus point is that they are opened even during the odd hours (in-between meals); operating from 10am until 9pm daily.
