Foodie Review
Flaming Melt
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsDefinitely an interesting one to look out for. They are still new and in the midst of experimentation. Perhaps after gauging the local flavors they will be looking to bring in different variants of cheese. As for the question of whether it is worth paying for cheese sandwiches, we guess it is only fair for us to reserve that judgment after trying more! As of now, both gNOMes are pleased with what they had and will definitely make another trip back.
Chilli Rush
A casual dining restaurant blending delicious fusion food and a cozy environment catered to families, friends and yuppies looking for a breath of fresh air. We take pride in our must try signature Chilli Rush Chicken Wings prepared at 10 different spice levels. Come experience the thrill of a mouth watering burn and make a date with the ‘hottest‘ chilli in the world. If your middle name is ‘Spicy’, we dare you to go head on with the much feared, almost non-human, Number 10 and be crowned the ‘hottest’ winner.
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsIf you are heading over for mains, keep to the Asian Cuisines instead. The gNOMes unanimously voted that the asian cuisines fare better than the western ones. Think you have a tongue and stomach of steel? Go for Level 10 instead!
A Pie Thing
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsOverall the winner for the day was the Ayam Percik, which brought a Malaysian taste to the whole variety. The Chunky Steak was equally yummy, with bits of beef overflowing with gravy. The pie crusts were thick, which could be a plus for many, but not a preference for some. This place is generally one for novelty. If you want your quick pie fix, give it a try here.
Rendezvous Corner
Rendezvous Corner is the third branch of Rendezvous Steak Garden, with the other branch located at Kampung Pandan and Taman Billion Cheras. We have very affordable lunch menu which starts from RM 6.90. We also have few selection of desserts: Homemade Cupcakes, 14 flavours of Ice Cream, Chocolate Fondue, and Chocolate Lava. Opening hour: Sun - Fri : 11am - 2am Sat : 12pm - 2am
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsA cozy place for a quick meal, or for catch up sessions with buddies. Go for the chef’s recommendations and you will not be left disappointed. Unbeknownst to many, Rendezvous Corner opens until 2am daily and caters for those seeking a cuppa or some shisha sesh.
Strangers at Forty 7
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsA great place to try out. One should make a point to go there. Friendly and responsive staff, good food, nice atmosphere. If there was any complaint, it was that the gNOMes could do with slightly cheaper prices on the menu. Other than that, it’s all good.
Fikcles
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsThe food served there actually caught us by surprise. A fusion of western + local dishes. Coupled with super friendly waiters and barista, the whole experience dining at Fickles was pleasant. Pop by if you are in the neighbourhood, because we are sure we will!
Dian Huo Xin Wo 点火心窝
Dian Huo Xin Wo 点火心窝, located right in front of LDP nearby Kelana Jaya LRT station.
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsOverall this is a good place to have breakfast should one want a simple meal of dim sum in the morning, or afternoon. Try some of the more uncommon flavors there, you might be pleasantly surprised. We hear the steamboat is even more well-received. The gNOMes shall be back again at night for sure!
Cafe Tryst
We are an espresso bar/café that endeavour to provide special spaces for people to dine, relax and unwind. We serve espresso based drinks, teas, sodas, cakes, pastas, steaks, pancake meals and Tryst specials.
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsIf one word were to describe this place, that word would be AFFORDABLE. A decent place with a chill atmosphere, and friendly on the wallet (for a cafe). The parking here is not too bad as well considering the location (come early. the early bird catches the worm!). Oh, and it is definitely pork-free.
Hokkaido Ramen Santouka
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsThis place is definitely the real deal, and for the prices we would say that this place is absolutely a MUST TRY. The only thing they could do to achieve perfection would be to find a way to remove the “yellow mee” taste (which normally comes from processed noodles) that gives a slight imperfection to the broth. Nevertheless the gNOMes will definitely pay a second visit and more.
Kam Heong (Kam Hiong) Restaurant
This is one of the best Penang Hokkien prawn mee you can get in Klang Valley and PJ.
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsExceptionalDuck rice is famously known as the best in PJ, but not the best the gNOMes have tried. Worth a try but most likely not worth a second visit.
Menya Musashi
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsSuperbHave not tried Ippudo Ramen, and due to this, Menya remains my favourite ramen here in Malaysia. Have tried both this outlet and the one in 1Utama. Superb!
Cielo Dolci
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsExceptionalLove the hand crafted gelato! Super yums! Peanut butter, tau fu fa, nasi lemak, earl grey? Go try them all!
White House Kitchen
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsExceptionalWe love the interior design of the place. Service is exceptional, though we think they can improve further on their dishes. Nevertheless, do try out!
Baba Low
Baba Low is nicely tucked at one of the housing estates. Menu is written on the old-timer blackboard.
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsExceptionalDidn't quite like the food. Perhaps we were there when they were very new. Will review again in the future.
Ayam Bakar Wong Solo
renaelyng posted thegardennom.wordpress.com 76 ReviewsExceptionalLove the food here! So spicy and so much oomph! Usually crowded so come early!
