Foodie Review
Levain Boulangerie and Pattiserie
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsSuperbIf the people doesn't drown you, the choices on the menu will. I was thoroughly impressed with the wide selection of food here- and am especially liking the stone oven concept with the good results, and with the prices well-priced, i wished to try each and every one of them. Of course, my stomach can't take in all at once, so coming back is no surprise! ...
Restoran Asia
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsSuperbThe bowl of noodles came with cockles, pork slices, taufu pok and chicken. The soup was mouth watering! It tasted a bit like the Sarawak laksa, powdery and aromatic. The spiciness was enough to keep us from thirsting for water. See blog for more!
Restoran Yi Poh 姨婆老鼠粉
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalThe noodle is like a cross between lai fan and chou mi fun, not too hard and not too soft either. It comes dry with, again, thick black sauce to mix with the noodles and pork slices. It has a unique flavour; no bad or good but just being different and definitely not found in KL. Seremban Seafood Village (芙蓉烧蟹海鲜村)
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalBaked Crabs, somehow i still don't get the 'Baked' part (may be it's baked then stir fried with the sauce) and might be slightly overrated, this restaurant is recommended. See blog for more!
Thean Chun 天津茶室
One of the oldest, and most famous shop is Thean Chun, or fondly known as Hall Of Mirrors
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsSuperbYou will hardly miss this stall as it is usually crowded especially during peak hours. Apart from the smooth kuay teow noodles, what makes this dish a winner is the soup. It has that oomph that lingers in your month, sweetened by the chicken and prawn slices. See blog for more!
Restoran Sun Yeong Wai
This restaurant has branches in Greentown and Medan Ipoh Baru, but this outlet serves the BEST roasted pork among the 3.
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalWe ordered what the restaurant is famous for- roast duck. It comes in two flavours: original and smoked. Personally, i liked the original but my friend preferred the latter. Really, it depends on your preferences, so we ordered a quarter of each. The roast duck was flavourful and succulent. Another recommended dish was the roast pork or 'siew yok'- i especially liked the crispy skin of the pork and the thick, fatty layer sandwiched in between. See blog for more!
Uncle Jang
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalUpon entering the restaurant, i noticed each table has a hot plate on it. The tables were divided into two: one low enough that allows us to sit on the floor and eat, and another for us to sit on the chair. We sat, a bottle of water was brought to our table, and we began placing our orders. We ordered hot plate chicken (minimum of 2 persons, so we chose one Original and one Spicy) and Ramen noodles. Outback Steakhouse
Outback Steakhouse, an Australian themed steakhouse was established in Tampa, Florida in 1988, spanning across 23 countries in America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Middle East.
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalThe question now is, would i return to this steakhouse? Depends. For the place? Yes. For the food? Some, like the Carrot Soup, Typhoon Bloom and Ribeye steak, the three that stood out the most and are recommended. See blog for more!
Restoran Makanan Laut Lau Heong
Zhen Liew Siang is a family run no- frills establishment tucked away in a quieter part of Sentul.
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalMy personal favourite is the Squid and Prawn in Banana Leaf- even recalling the name now makes me salivate. The thick, viscous gravy is simply mouth-watering. It has that unique flavour, the oomph surfaces in your mouth when you mix it with rice. The squid and prawns only complemented the dish. It can be said that this is one of their signature dishes, seeing almost every table had this. See blog for more!
Kafe B&N (Ben & Nick's Diner)
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalOne thing i truly enjoy about this diner is the homey feel- in their food, like it was stamped with sincerity, and its decor . A nice place to sit and catch up with friends (definitely). The service was pleasant and our food came fast. Worth a visit. We were told that lunch sets will be devised soon, so perhaps my other visit would be during the lunch hour then? See blog for more.
My Elephant
The Thai restaurant was dimly lit and along with pretty candles that created an idealistic and dreamy atmosphere, we find it romantic :) Suitable for an evening party catered for conversations! Tables were adorned with daisies and glasses wrapped up beautifully with banana leafs. Elephant icons such as paintings and toys were also found smartening up the place. They only serve set lunch for lunch time and ala carte only for dinner.
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsSuperbI discovered this cozy eatery from my family. The restaurant is located in a residential-flat neighbourhood, which surprised me at my very first visit. But as i stepped through the entrance, i was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was neat and the decor was pretty. And the crowd- making reservation on peak periods is recommended, was large. As Tom Yam would be my most anticipated dish then, i walked out from the restaurant wanting more of the Green Curry Chicken instead. Now, i crave for it one more time- it is THAT delicious!
