Restoran Kam Kitchen
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsSuperbMy favourite dish of the night was this: Chicken with Yam (RM 20). Yes, i've tasted pork with yam but chicken with yam? I can safely say that this was my first. The minimal sauce of this dish burst with flavours in my mouth, the tasty yam pieces danced around while the tender chicken meat completed the party. A dish that is definitely going to be ordered on our next visit; highly recommended.
Restoran Hao Yi Lou
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsReasonably priced, lunch was satisfying.
Restoran Sate Kajang Hj. Samuri
It's said to be the best satay in Kajang. The environment is clean and neat. The taste is not as good as their branch in Damansara Uptown, PJ. The meat is a bit hard because of overcook.
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsYou should make this place a stop during your visit to Kajang too or when passing by it.
River View Seafood Restaurant
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalThe highlight of our lunch had to be this: steamed fish in special three-flavour sauce. The sauce was truly unique and delicious. It had that sourish taste to amplify my appetite. The fish was, no doubt, fresh. Recommended.
Kedai Kopi Shin Lok 新乐茶室
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsSuperbWhen it arrived on our table, i looked at it. Innocent, gentle and not greasy. I grabbed one and took my first bite. It was delicious! The skin was crispy and delicate; the yam inside was well textured. The filling was small but surely it did not compromise the taste. It was flavourful. Ours came hot from the kitchen and i can say, eat this best when it is hot (we packed some and it lost some of its great taste when it was cooled). Well worth the journey.
Mei Six Hin Restaurant
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsThis restaurant offered special and unique dishes with great taste that surely left me wanting to try more and visit again.
Fish & Co
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalOne bite and i will be hooked? Not sure; may be not hooked but my visit was pleasant and satisfactory, enough to make me return for a second visit some time. I must say, i enjoy their creative word play and the catchy concept of a seaside eatery evident on their plates (or pans) and tables, walls and menu.
Brotzeit Bier German Bier Bar & Restaurant
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalNot the Mid Valley Megamall outlet but the one in Sunway Pyramid. Closer look at the sausages. I preferred the garlic pork sausage. Either way, they both tasted fresh, flavourful and meaty. The pork knuckle, oh, guilty pleasure it was! The skin crispy, the meat succulent and tender, and enough flavour and aroma to whet our appetite. No wonder this restaurant is popular with the pork knuckle- clearly, it was delicious...
1919 Restaurant and Gallery
It is located behind Tesco.
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalThe Fried Eggplant/Brinjal (RM8, small) was the other dish recommended by the waitress and it was tasty. For one who doesn't take eggplant, i took this. The other Fried Eggplant i had was in Ijok but unlike that, this was cut into thin strips. Felt like i was eating potatoes. I can imagine this as a finger food, eating only this while watching a movie. Eggplant is good for health, but (being health conscious awhile) i learned that fried in oil isn't the same as it absorbs the oil. Guilty pleasure.
Purple Cane Tea House 紫藤茶館
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalThe concept of this eatery is what i find most compelling. My lunch was good and satisfying. I truly enjoyed the surrounding, the zen-like feel and the idea of a tea house. Right next to where we sat were displays of various types of teas and tea pots on sale, and all things tea. Recommended...
Yong Suan Coffee Shop 永泉茶室
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalI just had to try. Because my friends said this place serves 'nasi ganja'.
Jeti Seafood Restaurant
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalSome hits, some misses. I would definitely come back to Kuala Selangor for their freshness in seafood. It's finger licking good. Since i have tried this restaurant, the next time i'm back, i would want to explore the neighbouring restaurants instead- then do the comparison.
Kedai Makanan Ban Lee 万利肉骨茶餐室
A "bak kut teh" shop that is a crowd puller. The meat’s fantastic, as I asked for them to ensure there’s more fats than meat. That’s precisely what I received, along with some ribs and some vegetables. As for the soup? I feel that there’s abit too much MSG for my taste
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsSuperbNow i need not travel so far to Klang for good Bak Kut Teh (until i find one really impressive one there or if i'm out, looking for adventure in Klang).
Restaurant Yoke Heng 玉兴海鲜饭店
This place is famous for their claypot mouse noodle ('nga pou lou shu fun')
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsExceptionalThinking back the flavours of this dish's gravy makes me salivate. The freshness of prawns truly brought out and add flavour to the gravy. The soaked 'wan tan mee' noodles in the gravy was delicious- much could be said to the fried, still crispy ones too. Priciest dish on the table but satisfying... see more...
Plan B
WACK posted wonderfoodtravel.blogspot.com 41 ReviewsSuperbI don't know; may be a back-up choice strategy- it was to me as the first place we wanted to go apparently was fully booked and we needed to make reservations for Saturdays? But after my visit, Plan B is no substitute restaurant. Under the same company as Ben's (i enjoy Ben's partly for their food and partly for their concept and design), Plan B's interior and menu felt similar- cushioned sofa, black and white cottage like walls with paintings, and a flipboard-style, handwriting font menu . I went to the outlet in Bangsar Village: good service and friendly staff. Unlike Ben's, my table did not have riddle or question cards, nor recipe, to entertain ourselves with while waiting for dinner. But service was quick despite the crowd.
