Yin's Sourdough Bakery & Cafe
posted 9 years ago www.lingzie.com 195 ReviewsYin’s Sourdough Pizza offers Neapolitan style pizza, baked in a stone oven, with a chewy slightly charred crust and ‘soup-y’ center. I had no qualms about the soup-y center and found the chewy crust to be utterly enjoyable. There is a slight tangy taste of the sourdough but not overwhelm...ingly so. Most enjoyable was the slow cooked tomato paste which married beautifully with the sweet zucchini and eggplants. The usual carnivore in me hardly missed the absence of meat in this vegetarian pizza! read more

Penang Nyonya Kuih Moh Teng Pheow
This place supply of sweet and savory Nyonya Kuih and snacks. The owner, Mr Mook and his family has been making the Nyonya Kuihs and supplying them to kuih peddlers for many years in Penang but nowadays they just cater to the hotels and directly walk-in customers.
The Nyonya kuih definitely a highlight here, together with the vintage vibe make it good place for a localize afternoon tea combination.

New World Park Food Court
LEE ENG LAI, now in his late fifties, recalls that his grandfather Lee Kar Tee and grand uncle Lee Ah Keat started selling ice kacang as a roving stall in the Jalan Rangoon area in 1923. His father, Ah Kang (Kar Tee’s son), later inherited the stall and moved it to a permanent position. Eng Lai, his... brother Eng Huat and sister Ah Kee (above) have been involved in running the stall since the 1960s, when it was next to a snooker bar. Originally, in the 1920s, a bowl of basic ice kacang cost half a cent, now it is RM1.50. Early in 2007, the stall moved into the new New World Park (Sin Sei Kai) food court opposite with ample parking. read more

Ping Hooi Coffeeshop 檳園茶室
Go for the CKT and Lor Bak. If you still have space, go for the kuey teow th'ng.
I prefer char kuey teow that is not 'wet'. The consistency and the texture of the noodles is just right. The duck egg managed to enhance the aroma of this plate of simple char kuew teow with 3 reasonably big prawns!

Pitt Street Koay Teow Th'ng 椰腳粿條湯
Pitt Street Koay Teow Th’ng – the original Koay Teow Th’ng from Hai Oan coffee shop that located in Burmah Road. This stall was also awarded for a special award in year 2002.
I personally love the clear broth that is full of flavour. The 'fish balls' are made of mixture of fish and eels (鳗鱼), therefore you may notice that it may not be as 'bouncy' / 'chewy' as the ones made from 'ikan parang' (wolf herring aka 西刀鱼).
