Motormouth J2Kfm aka Motormouth
Foodie Review
Basileou Salad
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsNevertheless, acknowledgements need to be credited where they are due, and I do think that Basileou is doing a fair job in an attempt to transform the Ipoh’s eating landscape with more greens in our diet and lighter bites devised for quick, power lunch.
Keng Nam Coffee Shop
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe coconut and egg jam has quite an intense fragrance from the screw pine leaves (pandan) and just the right level of sweetness that leaves one craving for seconds after mopping up a plate in record time.
Restoran Dan Kafe New Weng Fatt
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThis shop is located back to back with Chooi Yue Dim Sum that is worth trying.
Tea And Tattle
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsWe enjoyed their signature “1896” from the black tea selection; a rich, flavourful cup combining fruity notes of white peach, cinnamon, and gala apples, with a crisp floral finish.
Kedai Makanan Loke Wooi Kee 乐会居茶室
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsLoke Wooi Kee serves one of the oldest and most popular versions of Hor Hee in Ipoh
PT Grande Cafe
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsTo sum up the experience at PT Grande, I would definitely return for the pastas and cakes, though I would love to try their take on risottos; an even trickier dish to master.
Scenic Cafe Garden
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsOverall, the dining experience was pleasant, and this has been marked as a place to return to whenever we run out of ideas on where to dine in Ipoh.
Chow Kiat Klang Bak Kut Teh
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe soup was heavily-infused with flavours from the herbs; yet with a balance of savoury tinge and a very faint nuance of sweetness.
Hung Wang Eating Shop 漢元餐室
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsSome other notable dishes here include the boiled baby octopus, duck’s offal, steamed or deep fried fishes, and of course, you must always sample a bowl of their plain rice porridge which has been cooked to a creamy consistency and placed in a giant claypot; almost resembling a huge flower pot.
Foh San Dim Sum 富山茶楼
The ever famous Foh San dim sum is a famous haunt by tourists for some scrumptious and variety of dim sum. A little advise here, either go there as early as 7 am or as late as 11 am. Its hard to get a table during peak hour, and after you get seated bring your bill to the cart and take your own dim sum as the waitress are too busy to entertain you.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsWell, there are definitely better options for dim sum in Ipoh.
Restoran Lou Wong Tauge Ayam Kuetiau 老黄芽菜鸡沙河粉
There were few famous Ngah Choi Kai Sar Hor Fun in Ipoh
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsOverall, this was not a bad dining experience after all.
Kedai Kopi Sin Yoon Loong
A highly recommended breakfast joint, even if only for the toasts and coffee.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe white coffee used to be really excellent, probably at the hands of the proprietor when quality came first before the urgency to churn out cups after cups ala fast food style.
Tuck Kee Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThere are probably a dozen or more dishes to recommend to you, but trust the ladies taking your orders as they are really experienced and won’t steer you wrong.
Sum Sum Yi Fatt (3328) Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsAt 3328, it seemed that they could do no wrong with their endless list of recommendations. But if you’re a first timer like myself, then try a dish cooked with their fresh snakehead fish (ikan haruan or sang yue).
Nam Heong Food Court
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsAlthough the prices are relatively higher than the conventional hawker stalls, the trade off is worthy if you get the best of all worlds in the same compound and an ambience that does not reek of smoke, sweat and well, spit.
