Foodie Review
Yut Kee Kopitiam 鎰記茶餐室
Yut Kee is one of the grand old lady of the Kuala Lumpur kopitiam scene having been established since 1928. Today it's being run by the third generation of the family.
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 8/10. The crowd of hungry onlookers kept on coming while we were busy feeding off our plates. After so many years, I still don't quite get the hype about the place - the long wait and the okay only dishes with a few standouts.

Two Sons Bistro
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 6.5/10. Our meal here today were pleasant - some hits; some misses.
Palazzo Viva
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 6/10. For me, it seems as though they focused a bit too much on presentation rather than taste - nice to look at but mediocre taste wise.
Merchant's Lane
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10. The food at Merchant's Lane felt like comfort food, best enjoyed on a rainy day.
Ashley’s by Living Food
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 6.5/10. From the opinion of my humble tastebuds, the dishes I sampled today was no doubt interesting and a hint healthier, yet it feel as though it was lacking-in-that-little-something, comfort factor maybe - it didn't have much soul in it.
Huckleberry Food and Fare
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10. My meal here was enjoyable, though nothing fantastic, but a little more distinctive compared to the conventional cafes in town - artisanal breads as highlights.
Brewyard Coffee
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10. If you're looking for something substantial which you can nibble on over that cuppa of yours, go for The Majesty, B.Y Waffles and Chocolate Brownie, those were the highlights of my meal. The rest of the dishes I sampled were decent but easily forgettable.
Garage 51
A new venture by the guys behind award winning coffee place, CoffeeSociété
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 5.5/10. Now, I've previously heard great things about this cafe. I'm not saying that you shouldn't visit this cafe, because with all honesty, two dishes gone wrong is merely a crack on the tip of an iceberg.
Sozo Japanese Restaurant
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10. If you feel like packing in a whole tank of Japanese food, Sozo would do you well - but if you're a small-eater merely wanting to sample, I would suggest some place else that serves finer Japanese food, and not in bulk.
Bandits Coffee Bar
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10. My brunch here was plain pleasant. I can't stop thinking about the nutella and peanut butter toast however. They've got some pretty interesting desserts on display - snickers tart, toffee macadamia with cream cheese tarts, pandan lamingtons and chocolate avocado cupcake.
Korean Barbecue San Nae Deul
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7.5/10. No fancy-pancy wagyu and kobe here, but I thought the barbecue meat selection and quality were pleasant - some were good; most were decent. Similarly, most of the Korean dishes that we sampled were also satisfactory and please remember to try their kimchi soup!
Ribs At The Burgeon
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 8/10. Compulsary orders - The Ribs, Pork Belly, Peanut Squid Salad and Red Velvet. My misses - the Smoked Chicken and Pulled Pork Burger.
Sitka Restaurant
Sitka is a restaurant in Damansara Heights, situated in the west of Kuala Lumpur and set in the 30-year-old shop lots of Jalan Batai. This intimate, 40-seat neighbourhood eatery is our interpretation of a modern restaurant, giving a nod to the food scene of Copenhagen, Barcelona and London.
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7.5/10. My meal here today was smashing. The soft shell crab steamed bao was delectable but hitting the spot was the shredded beef taco, love it! Having said that, I thought the portion served was ridiculously miniscule - in other words, it felt expensive.
Espressolab
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7.5/10. Value for money? Yes! If you don't have a huge appetite, order a serving to share. My sides of fries, mashed potatoes, salad, grilled pumpkin and onions were delicious and most importantly, refillable.
