In general portion of the food was huge and we were really full after the meal!

Basically, we are happy with all the food they have served to us except the stale seaweed wrapper. As for the service, I dislike the way captain look (no smile at all!) which has given to us while compensating us with the Sake Toro. It is somehow spoiled a certain percentage of our appetite.

The soup base is clear, not that heavy herbal type, but still you got the hint of special aroma from there. And those meats are tender and innards is just nice. The Yam rice is yummy with added in the aroma of yam and dried shrimp.

Eating here is a pre-arranged affair. The Bukit Jugra Beggar's Chicken Restaurant absolutely does not entertain walk-ins. You have to order your dishes at least 24 hours in advance, in fact it's better if you give them more time

So how was the food? Well for me, if you haven't tried Beggar's Chicken, then it's OK to try. But once you try it, there is no reason to go back again unless it's for a special occasion. For me the beggar's chicken is very similar to the one we had at the night market. I think they called it paper wrapped chicken or herbal wrapped chicken.

Sin Kee Restaurant in Brickfields used to be located in a wooden structure next to a petrol station along Jalan Tun Sambanthan. With progress and development, and the words KL Sentral whispered excitedly among the residents of Brickfields, Sin Kee moved to a shoplot across the road. Of late, there have been some positive refurbishments in Sin Kee. The restaurant now boasts a purple ceiling and orange lamps that create a warm and funky ambience to the otherwise old-fashioned chinese restaurant. Foo Kei Chang started Sin Kee in a makeshift wooden building in 1969 next to the Shell petrol kiosk in Brickfields. In 1999, it moved into a shoplot because the government needed the land for KL Sentral. Foo Kei Chang has since retired and passed the restaurant to son Man Eek. Sin Kee is still known for its Hainanese steamed rice. Its speciality menu also has local and Western influences.

新记有两道招牌名菜,一是焖饭,我个人不是很喜欢,第二就是海南鸡扒或猪扒了,我选了比较少见的猪扒,一份RM13.50(奇怪鸡扒和猪扒一样价钱,那叫猪扒比较划算哦) 这里的海南猪扒和镒记的非常不同,不是一整块肉,而是肉碎组合而成的肉块,类似汉堡肉,口感扎实,加上煎烤过,味道很香,吃起来很多汁,好吃!

The restaurant's swank interior belies the fact that it serves good `ol hawker fare along side Western favourites. Nasi Lemak, Curry Laksa, Mushroom Chicken Mee, Nasi Bojari, Beef Rendang, Curry Fish Head, Assam Prawns, Chicken Chop, Sambal Petai, Cendol, Ice Campur, Bubur Cha Cha.

Exceptional

Madam Kwan is one of the best restaurant serving Malaysian cuisine. To my surprise, the most delicious dish is Char Kuey Teow but not the well-known Nasi Bojari. Worth for a try!!!

Their rotis, thosais with unlimited chutneys, sambal and dhall curry are heavenly!

First a piece of banana leaf was laid on the table and rice was added to it, then came the papadam together with assorted vegetables and the choice of 3 types of curry gravies.

Hong Kee Claypot Chicken Rice

Superb

Its a traditional way cooking by using charcoal. Maybedue to this it bring out the fragant of the rice especially those rice stick on the claypot wall. Its crispy and the best part is it doesn’t taste like over burn dark rice. Hehe. The chicken had been marinated until it is soft and really delicious. Yummy yummy~~
