Jalan San Peng Kai See Hor Fun
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbJudging from the crowd (it was slightly past lunchtime) and what they were eating, I quickly gathered that they are famous for their chicken and prawn noodle in soup. Dad did the ordering, as I had no clue but I did want some greens. Crispy and fresh. And then there was steamed fish. Plain and simple but lovely. The taste of ginger was not overpowering and it was at the right saltiness level. Flesh of the fish just slipped off the bones. May I say that their braised chicken feet and pork belly were AWESOME.
Sambal Scott Garden
Email: enquiries@sambal-nasilemak.com Open daily 10:00am to 10:00pm
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsExceptionalA stone's throw away from Taman Desa, Scott Garden very quickly became a convenient meeting point for gatherings and reunions. One evening, we randomly decided to head there for dinner. None of us had any experience dining there so any outlet would not matter, which was how we ended up eating at Sambal.
Restoran Esquire Kitchen
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbMy trip back to KL is never complete without a visit to Esquire Kitchen. This is almost always the first place Mum and Dad suggest for family dinner. They boast Szechuan and Shanghainese flavours, home-cooked style.
Mee Jawa Publika
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsExceptionalThe old school bicycles at the entrance caught my attention. The red went well with their signage. They had an airy, clean, simple, open, no fuss concept. And bamboo appeared to be their feature material. The ceiling and lampshades were made with bamboo.
Snowflake
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsExceptionalPerhaps because I had something else to compare with, I found them very typical Taiwanese dessert. The texture of their toppings was chewy and soft while their shaved ice had the melt-in-your-mouth quality, and in humid Malaysia, that is always a welcome treat.
Restoran Tim Kee 添记(老地方)板面
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbDad and I love their original dry pan mee with minced pork and mushrooms, which is served with a bowl of sweet leaf soup. The chicken bone and dried anchovies soup, boiled for hours, is flavoursome. Occasionally, I order their traditional soup pan mee. RM10 comfortably covers a bowl of noodles plus one drink, with some spare change. Not bad for a cosy, comfortable and clean environment with quick and friendly service.
Country Farm Organics
Attached to its retail outlet is a restaurant cum café that serves wholesome and organic food. After much research and preparation, the culinary team at Country Farm has creatively developed a diverse menu that consists of a wide repertoire of organic and semi-organic dishes using mostly ethnic ingredients and recipes. There is a great emphasis on producing appetizing fusion food with an 'Oriental twist' and healthy wholesome dishes because the company recognises the growing trend among the younger generation towards healthy and delicious cuisine. No processed foods but completely natural ingredients are used in Country Farm Organics’ food outlet in Bangsar. Our restaurant does not use microwave oven and all our utensils are made of stainless steel.
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbMum was glad to find an organic shop that not only sold food items but also had a bar and restaurant attached.
Rakuzen Japanese Restaurant
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbGTower was a fairly new building at the time we visited. There were quite a number of restaurants and we chose Rakuzen Japanese Restaurant for our annual company meal.
Sushi Tei
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsExceptionalMy first 'date' with KS was at Pavilion, where he brought me to the Singaporean sushi franchise of Sushi Tei for dinner.
100°C Steamboat, Teppanyaki & BBQ Restaurant
Eat at the comfort of an airconditioned place, personal pots but it lacked the soul that the good old steamboat places possess.
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsExceptionalWe were quickly ushered to an empty table and took some time to browse through the menu. As I hardly eat at steamboat restaurants, I was a little unsure of how to go about ordering but I did enjoy looking at all the food they had in the menu.
Ficelle Boulangerie & Patisserie
chryshijing posted chryshijing.blogspot.com.au 55 ReviewsSuperbI got the shock of my life when they both came out with a trayful each of cakes and what not. How are we going to finish all of THAT!?
