WenY Wonders Why by wenywonderswhy
1881 Chong Tian Hotel
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com 21 ReviewsSuperbBraised duck with mustard was a SO-SO but the rest of the food were AWESOME
Hameed Pata Mee Goreng
The sotong taste sweet and spicy at the first few mouthful. Then it tasted spicy all the way until I finished the noodle. If you are a sotong lover, you should definitely try this out.
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com 21 ReviewsBadGreat flavor to start but became sickening towards the end =/
Toh Soon Cafe 多春茶座
This place is suitable for breakfast and also tea time. This is one of the gem in Penang Island. It’s just a simple stall located at a small alley in Campbell Street but it’s always crowded with people. The coffee is the famous item in this cafe too, do order a cup if you drop by this cafe.
weny posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com 21 ReviewsSuperbCharming old eatery! Food is less substance but the place is all charisma and worth a return!
Kedai Kopi Sin Guat Keong 新月宫茶室
weny posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com 21 ReviewsSuperbGreat fried kuey teow! Cheap! But the mantis prawns are not worth the extra buck!
Marco Polo Restaurant (富临门)
Chinese Restaurant (award winning) with nice interior, with Tim Sum buffet on weekend morning.
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com.au 21 ReviewsSuperbMarco Polo when I looked it up over the net, is one of the better eats in KL nowadays. Despite being overshadowed by other famous franchise like Overseas, this place still lives through all the competition. A worthy try which does not cost too much in my opinion. The pricing is considered normal these days and the peaceful atmosphere will definitely give you a peace of mind while enjoying dim sum, a meal once considered a Chinese fine dining in the older days.
Restoran Famous Seremban Favourites
An outlet that supposedly serves the “World Famous Cuttlefish Vermicelli!” and has been highly recommended for its Chargrilled pork strips (Char Siew). The humble little place has a wide variety of food and good services, but the killer is still the char siu. Food is served without much of waiting despite the crazy lunch hour crowd.
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com.au 21 ReviewsExceptionalI’m not a person who has a lot of experience eating char siew but I feel that this tasted quite good. The meat was lean and of course quite healthy. But my dad said it was not crispy enough for his liking.
Dave's cafe
Surprisingly this place was popular with its pork ribs. They have so many kinds like baby back ribs, pork belly, pork knuckle and etc. Aside the ribs, they even had pastas, lasagnas, seafood platters and more.
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com.au 21 ReviewsExceptionalSeeing the pizza Kennysia ordered, we decided not to be left out an ordered one as well. Presenting the Aussie Favourite Pizza. Tasted awesome but Dave had a little too much spice in it. Like other bloggers commented on their pizza, Dave should put the spice where they belong!
Bumbu Bali
Waterlily, Buddy-Buddy and Bumbu Bali are actually under the same management or shall I say family owner? Bumbu refers to herbs of Bali. It was run by the owner, Eddy and his Bali wife.
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com.au 21 ReviewsSuperbThis unfamiliar eatery among the PJ crowd is fast becoming a popular dining place. Occupying two floors which are usually packed during dinner, this place serves good food in a Indonesian environment at a price I would deem fairly expensive. Most meals here are priced between $20 to $40. Nonetheless the quality of the food is uncompromised
Levain Boulangerie and Pattiserie
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com.au 21 ReviewsSuperbThe environment here is nice and pleasant. Pretty quiet too! Also, the prices for the pastries are decent. About 3-5 ringgit each depending on what you pick. But the killer for me were the drinks. Coffee starts at 8 a cup. Iced Chocolate goes for 12 bucks. That was all a bit crazy! Nonetheless, what you pay, you get. Its quality stuff here
Pantai Seafood Restaurant
Excellent!!! The Snow Crab is just fantastic!!! Really a must try. The kai lan is good too.
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com.au 21 ReviewsSuperbBeen coming to Pantai Seafood for the past few years after boycotting certain seafood places! This place definitely serves a kick @ a cheap price!
Kam Lun Tai Restaurant
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com.au 21 ReviewsExceptionalFortunately, the Kam Lun Tai brand held its name well as a food establishment in the country. Overall, the quality of the food was plausible but a little expensive!
Plan B
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com.au 21 ReviewsSuperbIf the quality and standard is maintained, this is definitely a place to revisit in the future. Fairly priced, I think Malaysians would not mind coming to these up market places for some gastronomy pleasures. Will definitely try the much hyped Gruyere Muffin the next time around.
Restoran Chan Meng Kee
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com.au 21 ReviewsExceptionalI liked the yummy noodles with well-made Char Siew pork (bbq pork). The pork tries to maintain a 50-50 balance between fat and meat. (and it used to have a crisp skin). Most wanton noodles in Malaysia do not use sesame oil which might be preferred by others Asians especially people from Hong Kong. But this one uses pork lard with crispy bits of pork crackle to mix with the noodles.
Rakuzen
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com.au 21 ReviewsExceptionalTo conclude this, the meal at Rakuzen was pretty good. But if I could change the evening, I would have taken the Katsu-don and skewered meats of the menu. Instead, I would have opted for a few other dishes found on the Hokkaido Festival specials!
Betty's Midwest Kitchen
Advisable to book for lunch and dinner. Betty’s serves really good hearthy Mid-west food. Small place, but the popularity shows; if the food is good, business is just as good too.
wenywonderswhy posted wenywonderswhy.blogspot.com.au 21 ReviewsExceptionalAmerican food is tempting when it get so much attention in Malaysia. At the end of the meal, there were so many things that I enjoyed and hated. If there are things I could change, I would definitely have not ordered the dessert and the Dogfood appetizer. Having the same brown sauce over everything made food taste like cafeteria bites.
