Antonios Trattoria Calabria Antonio's TTDI
Experience a variety of delectable Italian delights at Antonio's - your friendly neighbourhood trattoria!
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsI just had probably the worst Italian meal in my life at Antonio’s Trattori Calabria. You know how sometimes you walk into a restaurant the vibe doesn’t feel right immediately? It was exactly like that here.
Big Tree Foot (大树脚) Roadside Hawker
Ipoh’s famous “Big Tree’s Foot” (called Tai Shu Keok in Cantonese) which located at Pasir Pinji with a friend. Basically, this place is kinda dusty and untidy as it’s located by the roadside. The hawkers erected some canopies probably due to some complaints by customers that leaves falling from above.
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsMost of the yong tau fu we had were decent but not really outstanding. The only item that was special enough to be memorable was the ‘sar kot’ (stuffed turnip) – mainly because it was my first time having it, and we don’t get this in KL. But then again, I get comments saying there are plenty of other places that make tastier ‘sar kot’.
Pablo Cheesetart Pablo Baked Cheese Tart
日本人气No.1 现烤半熟起司塔 Japan's Most Popular Freshly-Baked Rare Cheese Tart
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsWe also had the opportunity to try their Freshly Baked Chocolate Cheese Tart (RM49.90) at the pre-launch event. It is perhaps the heaviest tasting cheese tart we have tried so far – I think you guys will love this. The chocolate flavor is pronounced without being overpowering and the sweetness really hit the spot.
Neroteca
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsWhen the food finally arrived, it was disappointingly average. For RM49, I’d consider their homemade ravioli pasta both over-priced and underwhelming for its portion. There’s too much pasta and not enough filling so we could only taste mostly flour and mushroom. A pity considering the braised beef filling was delicious.
Kesom Cafe PJ
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsMy Nasi Dagang with Gulai Ikan Raja Berangkat @ RM13 was equally delicious. The firm yet fluffy texture of the rice is faultless while the fish lives up to its name – fit for a king. I also had the A.P.A (Apa Pun Ada) drink @ RM3.50 but I found the taste a tad watered down. Refill is only 50 cents though.
Gold Bar
Gold Bar is more than a bar, equipped with a full fledged kitchen serving hearty meals & other porky delights to pair with our 20 types of craft beer!
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsNext, Thai Pork Neck @ RM14 – masterfully crafted dish that’s bursting with freshness and flavor. Every slice is succulent with a crispy skin – highly enjoyable and recommended.
Hong Kong Hotpot 香港热锅
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsYou can tell that we were happy with the food. That’s because it was really a pleasant experience. In fact, this was one of the best steamboat meals we have had so far and I can’t really believe it’s at Bangsar.
Kedai Makanan Toong Kwoon Chye
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsOverall, I wouldn’t recommend nor would I return to eat here again. The main reason I dropped by was to check out one of the oldest standing wantan mee restaurant in KL. Sad to say, just like Koon Kee, both have seen their best days long ago. Still, worth a try if you are longing for a taste of heritage, or what the Chinese would call 古早味.
Restoran Heng Ong Fatt 兴旺发茶餐室
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsTaste wise, it won’t necessarily blow you away but it’s certainly a lot better than the average coffee shop offerings. The soup is the clear type, loaded with blended chili which gives it a spicy kick on its own. That being said, the chili paste is still essential (savory more than spicy) because it adds depth to the overall flavor.
Hong Kee Confectionery Trading
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsWe had a few pieces on the spot and all I can say is that they are delicious especially when they are still warm. There’s a good amount of egg custard in every piece and fills up almost 90% of the shell. The sweetness of the rich and almost molten custard is just spot on and you can clearly smell and taste the buttery aroma. Other specialties to try: Swiss Roll, coconut tarts, walnut cookies and Sachima (萨其马). Come as early as possible to avoid disappointments.
Mak Chick Yunai
Original & Spicy Chicken Chop, Chicken Burger, Drummets dan Hot Dog Cheese dengan pelbagai sos istimewa. Ada juga Nasi Lemak Ayam Rempah.
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsMak Chick kept telling us her homemade nasi lemak is good and she sold us on it. We tried the Nasi Le Mak Chicken Berempah @ RM6 and the flavor of combo was just great. We liked everything about it, the rich and spicy sambal, fluffy rice and juicy ayam berempah. Best of all, the chicken is served boneless which makes eating a whole lot easier and more enjoyable too.
Doma Korean Restaurant doma modern korean
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsIf you are a Korean Fried Chicken lover, do know that Doma’s KFC is 50% off for half a chicken on every Tuesday. So Tuesdays are the best day to visit here and try the food out for yourselves.
Hermanos Rotisserie
Hermanos chicken is marinated for 24hours with our special herbs and slow cooked for 3 hours on our special rotisserie machine to PERFECTION!!!
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsHermanos’ beef burger is offered in Oldtimer @ RM13, CheeseBurger @ RM14, Bacon Burger @ RM15 and Bacon CheeseBurger @ RM16 which is shown above. The patty is made from 100% Australian beef and weighs 150g, so it’s larger and meatier than a quarter pounder. The melted cheese holds the toppings and melds the flavor effectively for a good bite every time.
Tong Sui Kai (Dessert Street)
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsBased on the tip given by a local, we tried stall 27 and 28. Both stalls seem to be owned by the same family so they don’t have any problem with us ordering from them. The reason I say this is because that there are unspoken seating rules you need to abide to.
Hotpot Kitchen 麻辣香锅
posted www.vkeong.com 879 ReviewsOverall, as long as you are able to pick a flavor (or spiciness) that suits your taste buds, I think you’d find the food here fresh and enjoyable. Price wise, it’s affordable considering the meal cost around RM60 and the amount of food we took was sufficient to share among 4 adults.
