Motormouth J2Kfm aka Motormouth
Foodie Review - Latest
Lil Ipoh
Air con with garden concept serving ipoh's most famous local hawker food stalls.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsIf you ask me, can this replace any of the established (old-timer, or ‘lou jiu pai’) hawker stalls of Ipoh? Definitely not.
The Mia Eating House
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe sides were forgettable though, even their proclaimed ‘Homemade Spring Roll’ (RM4.50/USD1.50) or Hakka Yong Tau Foo (RM3.30/USD1.10). Stick to the noodles, and I was already eyeing the Black Sesame Pan Mee, Chili Pan Mee, Loh Pan Mee and Curry Pan Mee for the upcoming visits.
Restoran Malika Saba
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe Arabic salad was a light toss of mixed vegetables with Sumak (a flowering herb that rendered a distinct flavour to the dressing), and came with the platter itself.
Sungai Wang Seafood Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe meal came to RM92/USD31 for the 5 of us, a clear winner in our books for all the right reasons. Sans the wait.
Restoran Yat Yat Bat Tauge Ayam (118)
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsClean, spacious, with an area designated for the heat-intolerant ones (we were) blasting with air-cond, 118 proved to be one hell of a contender.
Tai Wo Yuan Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsTake your time and plan. I’m sure you WILL find something you’d keep coming back for in Ipoh; aside from the usual favourites/tourist haunts.
Restoran Hong Xing Dim Sum
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsIf you think that Ipoh’s dim sum revolves around Foh San and Ming Court only, think again. Try browsing through this list – All About Ipoh Dim Sum and I bet you’ll find one or two gems in there that will please the most discerning dim sum lover in you.
Restaurant Fatty Bak Kut Teh & Fish Head
Restaurant which is just beside Old Klang Road. They cook the bak kut teh outside of the restaurant. The soup is superb!
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThey open from 6pm until 5am. Yes, the twilight hours! A good place to sober up after the mindless binge-drinking over at Scott’s Garden? Fair enough.
Restoran Makanan Laut Kwai Lam
The crab was fantastic. Very meaty. Real fatty crab.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe noodles meanwhile, was a disaster. Skip the Hokkien mee or mee hoon, if you would. Aside from the bits of lard fritters, the noodles was dry, bland, and completely out of tune. Should have opted for fried mee hoon with lala or something.
Let's Rock
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThis could be a place that can go far. Far beyond the tourist crowd come long weekends and public holidays. I believe not many places in Ipoh sell “Liew Fun” at night, aside from this Wok With Kim on Yang Kalsom Road and this hidden gem in Pasir Pinji wet market.
Ristorante Italia Mia
To those who really wants to experience Italy, literally, should give Italia Mia a go.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsItalia Mia still serve desserts; from Tiramisu to Creme Brulee, and even Kenny’s special creation of Fruity Pizza with dollops of sour cream.
Zakka Loft
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThere were some desserts on the menu that were not readily available; as they only stocked up on a few cakes, puddings, sweet soups and teas in the refrigerator with several tiers. Since Zakka Loft is not equipped with a kitchen, they can only afford simpler items that can be re-heated or served chilled on the spot.
Healy Mac’S Irish Bar & Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe lack of competition aside, they actually managed to set their base well, without over-promising and service was a prompt and pleasant one without newbies dropping plates, mixing up orders and what-not.
Restoran Yum Yum
The wooden double door opens into a dining restaurant of Chinese origin that is heavily influenced by Thai tastebuds.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThis dining experience at Yum Yum left me with wanting more. Not because of the portions, which were sufficient for 8-10 pax. But more to because of the cooking.
The Limestone's Fine Dining Restaurant
The Limestone's is Ipoh first fine dining restaurant, we offered the senses with its chic ambiance, contemporary French cuisine and gracious service. For an unparalleled dining experience, lets your taste buds savour the exquisite cuisines in a cozy and relaxed ambiance. Allow us to inspire you.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsI could not helped but marveled at the sheer creativity and brilliance of Sous Chef Mahani’s creations; going beyond the realms of conventional European classics.
