Motormouth J2Kfm aka Motormouth
Foodie Review - Latest
Tuck Kee Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 Reviewsa restaurant that I practically grew up alongside with, since our childhood days of staying around Pasir Puteh/Pasir Pinji.
Waraku Japanese Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsAll in all, the meal came to about RM90/USD30 for the three of us. Still, an average sum to fork out nowadays for quality (or sometimes pretentious) Japanese meal if you’re tired of the Sushi Kings, Sakae Sushis and what-nots. And the portions were all rather generous; leaving us huffing and puffing by the end of the meal.
Restoran Ipoh Hometown
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsOkay, next round will try one of the MANY types of freshwater fishes they offer. The trade-off? PRICE, of course. Let me get back to you after the next visit.
Ben Tdi Wei Local Delights
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThough BTW is positioned as a no-frills, homely premise serving honest to goodness fares. Not as intimidating as walking into another Oversea or any of the Chinese diners in 5 star hotels. You can even get a very decent, below RM20 per pax meal here for lunch.
Thai Corner
Pretty good Thai food that won't burn a hole in your pocket.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsAll in all, this could be a place that I would think of for a no frills, reasonably-priced Thai feast.
Kam Kee Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsPassable. Kind of disappointing, actually. The French beans and Sweet and Sour Pork were okay, but the fish was not.
Restoran Lim Kee Tang Hun
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe abacus seeds that came with a generous amount of minced pork and dried shrimps was a revelation; that yam beads stir-fried in a savoury, dark sauce can taste this good. The yam was of a mushy, yet velvety smooth texture. Something that I personally like.
Kar Heng Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsI don’t deny that the porridge here was good. Not the best, but still worthy of a visit.
Cheong Loy Rice Shop
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThey open only for lunch. A mere 3 hours daily without fail.
Indulgence Restaurant and Jazz Room
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe plump and juicy scallops were satisfactory, though I found the pesto rolled chicken ‘biscuits’ to be underwhelming, pale in comparison to the lamb and the cod.
Chee Cheong Fun Stall
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsHer mushroom gravy (‘tung koo chap’) pales in comparison to some of the better ones; being slightly watery and not laden with earthy, robust flavours of the chopped shiitake mushrooms.
Ben's General Food Store (BGFS)
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsI would not say that everything tasted fabulous from that one meal alone. But the deli-like ambience coupled with a very laid-back nature of tucking in into platefuls of shared salads, pastas, mains and such ….. it’s definitely a communal affair.
Pudu Wai Sek Kai
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsI will be back for the steamed egg. Oh yeah, I will.
Wong Hoi San Pork Organ Pepper Soup
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsNo proper signboard or address, so I guess you just have to look for THIS blue and green sign above the stall.
Greentown Dim Sum Cafe
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsEverything’s steamed and fried freshly before served, hence you can imagine the wait if the crowd is thick. When we were there, the shop was about 50% occupied, and we had to brace a 20-minutes wait for the first item to arrive. Then a couple of minutes in between each serving. A compromise for FRESHNESS, maybe?
