Motormouth J2Kfm aka Motormouth
Foodie Review - Latest
De Dine Cafe
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe dining experience was impressive, nonetheless.
Morsel Eatery
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsTalk about being honest enough. And let’s wish Loo and his partners all the successes ahead.
Up & Up Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsStill, a meal for three came to about MYR102, including a serving of curry fish head, sambal petai with prawns, bean sprouts salted fish and choy pou (preserved radish) with dried shrimps omelette, steamed rice and Chinese tea, relatively acceptable but no doubt more premium that the average ‘dai chow’ restaurants.
Sin Lean Lee
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThis coffee shop opens early in the morning and closes after lunch. There are only a handful of hawker stalls here, but what they offer is quality cooking.
The Mugshot Cafe
Fresh coffee, hand-crafted juices, homemade yogurt, and the best bagels in George Town.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe Mugshot Café does not offer a severely extensive food menu, which can be a blessing in disguise to stand out from the rest.
Kheng Pin Cafe 群賓茶餐室
You can find different types of hawker food there like Char Koay Teow, Loh Bak, Yu Sang Kai Chok (Porridge), Chicken rice and others. Kheng Pin café is an old style café where you will still find those old fashioned marble tables and wooden chairs.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe wanton noodles at Kheng Pin cafe is another viable option you could go with, in case devouring greasy, fried foods in the early hours of the day just did not sound so appetizing
Ong Cheng Huat Seafood 王清发海鲜
It's a popular place to dine out for its specialty dishes. More and more people visiting to this place after it appeared in Taste With Jason.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe restaurant has this very similar set up to Sitiawan seafood restaurants; vast seating capacity with round tables that can fit an extended family comfortably, high ceiling to generate a sense of space and airiness (you definitely need the latter, as there is no air-conditioning here), and selection of simple Chinese cooking (only a few dishes available daily, I will go more into that later) served with a refreshing albeit slightly intoxicating coconut wine or toddy.
Ang Hoay Lor
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe ambience was an unmistakably retro one; not manufactured like the many retro-fitted boutique cafes in town but the real deal.
Menglembu “Wai Sek Kai”
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsMost of the stall at Menglembu Wai Sek Kai do not have a signboard in English indicating what they are selling, so you’d do best by being nosy and observe what they are serving, or ask around.
Ah Loi Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsAt Ah Loi, there was absolutely no gap to fill, the crunch in every spoonful of the sprouts was relished, reigniting every ounce of magical memories of growing up eating bean sprouts (or sometime better known as ‘taugeh’) from Ipoh.
Basileou Salad
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsNevertheless, acknowledgements need to be credited where they are due, and I do think that Basileou is doing a fair job in an attempt to transform the Ipoh’s eating landscape with more greens in our diet and lighter bites devised for quick, power lunch.
Keng Nam Coffee Shop
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe coconut and egg jam has quite an intense fragrance from the screw pine leaves (pandan) and just the right level of sweetness that leaves one craving for seconds after mopping up a plate in record time.
Restoran Dan Kafe New Weng Fatt
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThis shop is located back to back with Chooi Yue Dim Sum that is worth trying.
Tea And Tattle
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsWe enjoyed their signature “1896” from the black tea selection; a rich, flavourful cup combining fruity notes of white peach, cinnamon, and gala apples, with a crisp floral finish.
Kedai Makanan Loke Wooi Kee 乐会居茶室
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsLoke Wooi Kee serves one of the oldest and most popular versions of Hor Hee in Ipoh
