Sidewalk Ice-Cream Lounge
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsSidewalk is a fascinating place indeed. Amidst the intense challenge from newcomers, they have stood their grounds and proved that there IS still a market for a no-frills, classic ice-cream lounge.
Beacon Point
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe meal for six came to RM82/USD27; a pretty reasonable sum to pay for a night out with every generation in the family.
Nyonya Kitchen
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsA very daring strategy to name their establishment, as the very self-explanatory name will no doubt generate much interest among Nyonya food lovers in Ipoh; OR incurs their wrath depending on how they perform in delivering their promise of dishing up authentic Nyonya feast.
Ah Ping Bak Kut Teh
The soup of the BKT, was very thick and flavorful, perhaps because it had been boiling all day. The vege was not bad. Sold out very fast. So be there early to avoid disappointment.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsFor me? Good enough on a cold, rainy evening. Plus, the advantage of fairly ample parking spots around the vicinity and shorter distance to home made Ah Ping one of the top choices when I crave for BKT in a jiffy around PJ-Subang area.
Snowdream
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsTastewise, not too shabby but a bit sweeter than the ones served at Snowflakes.
Teo Chiew Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsPretty reasonable given the quality of the dishes served and the scarcity of some of those. The service was very pleasant too, with the owner himself walking over and starting up a lengthy conversation, and even the ladies serving us were rather courteous.
Sun Seng Fatt Curry House 新成发咖哩粉
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe environment was airy, with sufficient breathing and arm space between seats, and a more comfortable lighting and ambience compared to Nam Chau’s.
Thean Chun 天津茶室
One of the oldest, and most famous shop is Thean Chun, or fondly known as Hall Of Mirrors
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsHall of Mirrors; a mystical name for one half a century’s old coffee shop located in the heart of Ipoh’s old town that has stood the test of time; serving generations of Ipohans and still drawing the crowd; young and old, near and far.
Kedai Kopi First Kwong Chow
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe roast pork was good. Better than most stalls out there, I believe. Yet, I could not help but feel that the quality has dwindled compared to the time when I had these at the hawker fest.
Crab House Seafood Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 Reviewsthis could be the ONLY place in Ipoh serving Seremban-style of Grilled Crabs (some call them Baked Crabs), hence the novelty effect being lifted into a whole new realm.
Chiang Rai Style Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsAll in all, a place that I will not hesitate to recommend if you’re around Puchong and hankering for a good bite of Thai feast.
Restoran Kong Sai
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe other dishes worth mentioning include Guangxi Stuffed Tofu Balls, Curry Pork Ribs (finished on that evening), Pig’s Stomach Pepper Soup and various Chinese dishes that will keep drawing you back to the restaurant.
Vicchuda Tom Yam Restaurant
Vicchuda is a Thai food restaurant located at the row facing LDP (same row as Champion Duck and Maybank).
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsPrices are pretty reasonable, within the medium range with nothing above RM20 per dish.
Hakka Zhan Restaurant
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsThe Mui Choy Pork (RM15/USD5) and Steamed Jenak Fish Teochew style (RM19/USD6) were both evidences of excellence in the culinary department; transforming homely dishes into delicious feasts served in this restaurant.
Hakka Rang Restaurant
Parking is relatively easy to find here and the best part is that it is still free. Don't know how long that will be so though. The furnishing of the restaurant is quite old school with wooden tables and chairs, even the tea sets are old school. Food wise, we're talking about Hakka dishes, one of my favourite.
Motormouth posted www.j2kfm.com 552 ReviewsA little pricey given the small portions of the food served but this is in the midst of a business area; hence still considered reasonable.
