Kyo-ei Tokyo Ramen
Non-halal.
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsSuperbThere are 3 kind of Ramen broths at Kyoei: Shoyu(醤油)which simply means soy sauce, Shio(塩)for salt and Miso. I have ordered shio for this bowl and plain salty is not just the thing I fond of. Nevertheless, the soup was still flavorful, though its clarity would suggest otherwise. Char Siew(on the left) , also known as yakibuta(焼き豚)in Japanese, was rolled into a log , seasoned with Kyoei special sauce overnight and braised in low temperature. It will be perfect, with a tad more tenderness on the meat. Though with the same name of Char Siew, Japanese differ from Chinese by not using the seasoning of red food colouring, sugar and five-spice powder(五香粉). Take a proper look at the Ramen (on the right). It was the noodle that has totally changed my perspective of yellow noodle with alkaline smell(which I would avoid at all cost). The irregular noodle shape (due to handmade noodle of bamboo stick) giving springy yet firm texture to the mouth.

T Forty Two
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsExceptionalPretty floral patterned chinaware plates, too bad they couldn't come with the chinaware tea set too. Macarons were ok, but nothing to shout about. The environment is quite relaxing, despite the fact that I was sitting in the middle of a shopping mall.

Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsSuperbThis can be a perfect place for romantic dinner or even chill out with friends. Penne Pasta with Salmon:While cherry tomatoes giving out sour yet appetizing flavour, the cream sauce complimented it really well with its rich texture and salty taste. Penne pasta was cooked to perfection, with cream sauce bursting out on every bite, leaving me speechless in its wonder. All the ingredients were working very well except the smoked salmon fish which supposed to be under the main spotlight. I found it to be rather bland as a fish lover.V irgin Apple Mojito RM13.90: "Fresh apples, lime chunks, mint leaves, brown sugar with a dash of soda" Been loving the fresh taste and after breath from peppermint that I have ordered this virgin apple mojito from the exotic coolers series. It came in a tall glass and was exactly everything I was expecting. I would definitely come for this again. Two thumbs up! Mango & Lime Lassi RM14.90: "Mangoes, lime, lemon & yoghurt" My first sip was mouthful with full load of mangoes. Yet at the same time, lime has lighten the texture, enable me to go for more.

Mikaku Ramen
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsSuperbI am in love with the not so thoroughly cooked tamago, in which it is still in half liquid form, so soft and smooth that it literally melt in my mouth. Pair that up with the appetizing sauce of sweet and sour, along with crispy rice crust. So perfect that I have finished the whole bowl myself.

Big Tree Foot (大树脚) Roadside Hawker
Ipoh’s famous “Big Tree’s Foot” (called Tai Shu Keok in Cantonese) which located at Pasir Pinji with a friend. Basically, this place is kinda dusty and untidy as it’s located by the roadside. The hawkers erected some canopies probably due to some complaints by customers that leaves falling from above.
