Saga Highland Steak Cafe
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsExceptionalSizzling Saga Combo Beef 傻瓜山铁板大虾牛扒 (RM28.80 Argentina) Argentina beef steak and 2 cheese-slice-covered big prawns on top of zigzag french fries and raw romaine lettuce. Drizzled with Suyvon's recommended Mongolia sauce out of 4 others: Garlic, BBQ, Black Pepper and Mushroom. They may want to consider the heat of sizzling plate for steak doneness as Daniel's choice of medium had turned into well done, though not to the extent of shoes leather. Carbonara Pasta 芝士奶油意粉 RM15.80 Spaghetti topped with processed crabsticks, canned button mushrooms, prawns, squids, mussel and romaine lettuce. I would say that this was a plate of catastrophe for carbonara lover. Instead of the typical creamy carbonara sauce, they offered chinese style sweet creamy butter sauce, sort of like 奶油鸡. It wasn't inviting at all with the cheapskate canned mushrooms and processed crabstick. (Don't get me wrong, they can be very tasty in mushroom soup and Subway seafood&crab but not here and not in this way.) It became my worst nightmare with the taste of Carnation condensed milk down my throat. I beg you, avoid this at all cost!
Melur & Thyme
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsSuperbWise combination of spinach Tagliatelle, a narrower flat ribbon pasta than Fettucini in matching its sauce of carbonara with duck eggs: Rich (in flavor), yet not cloying. Did I even mention that the pasta was cooked to al dente? Each bite is heavenly and we wiped clean till the last drop.
S.Wine Cafe
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsSuperbSpaghetti Carbonara RM26 made the traditional way with pancetta chunks & roughly-torn proscuitto, tossed in cream & topped with a raw egg yolk Procuitto or Parma ham is a dry-cured ham that is usually sliced thin and served uncooked while pancetta chunk is a spiced, salted and dry-cured pork belly. Flavourful enough as they preserved the pork meat as it is and chewy enough for you sink the teeth between meat lines. Yet, pardon this lady for not understanding the art of dry-cured meat and seek more sips of the sauce in order to swallow that dry, salted meat. Distinct from the usual carbonara, raw egg yolk was being presented in front of my eyes which later has added the extra smoothness to the spaghetti.
The Royal Flush 同花顺
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsBadResembling chinese shrine or imperial palace, the price of dining here is rather "royal" too, but thanks to Groupon we get to dine at a more affordable rate. However, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.
大城小食 Big Food Street
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsExceptionalIt has been years since we set foot in Sg Wang and if it wasn't for Gundam event that Jason would like to attend going on at the same shopping complex we might not have discover this non-halal food court. Not limit to local food, stalls here also provide options of Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine.Banners with images of celebrities such as Liang WenTao (梁文韬 aka 韬韬), PSY, and also others in promoting their individual stall. 雪花叉烧云吞面(干捞) Snowflake Wanton Mee (Dry) RM7.80 Char Siew made with the streaky part of pork belly gives both smooth and chewy texture. I found it to be flavorful yet the outer surface was a bit dry to complement the juicy inner. If only it would be crispy on the outside. Mee was average but the wanton deserved a thumbs up. Too many MSG nowadays we were amazed at the complimentary chicken soup that didn't have its presence. 古早味卤肉饭 Old Time Flavor Braised Pork RM7.80 Came in big portion and that's it. Satisfied our stomach but not enough to please our tongue. All prices stated above are of nett price; no government tax or service tax around here.

Thirty8
Located on Level 38, THIRTY8 is a lively interactive restaurant, lounge and bar in one unique venue with stunning views of Kuala Lumpur City.
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsExceptionalDining at Thirty8 with its 360 degrees unobstructed view of Kuala Lumpur was great, but watching how those chefs in their open kitchen preparing my customized order from fresh ingredients to piping hot dishes was even better. For one moment I felt like I was in the set of Iron Chef but with very friendly chefs. The dishes were then sent to my table without any indication of numbering/area. After all, there were limited tables at Thirty8 and it was all about getting personal. There were 3 cuisines in general: Western, Chinese and Japanese. I adore beautiful texture of raw meat especially the balanced layers of fat and flesh. Still, Thirty8 Japanese chefs did not excel as these sashimi pieces were the best I can find from the selection. Keep the best on plate and let presentation do the talking. A simple photo that shows how well-trained their staffs are: Realizing that the spoons were missing, the waiter brought us 2 spoons and placed in 2 different directions in case we were to share. Desserts after a meal were inevitable. Though their macarons have improved in terms of texture from my previous unfavorable review on Thirty8 afternoon tea, I wish they would consider on lowering the sweetness level too.
Burps & Giggles
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsExceptionalThey've transformed the colonial building spanning across 3 shop lots that were once served as a dressmaker's business but at the same time maintaining charm of the golden days with vintage items I may even have long forgotten of its existence. Pair that ambiance up with burgers they have been so proud of and I would say it'll be a perfect lunch.
Bonjour Garden
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsExceptionalWe were disappointed to learn that the afternoon tea set were sold out at 4pm with less than one third of the seats occupied. Jason then suggested to try out their March promotion of Buy 3 for 2. The cakes were of soft textures and low sweetness level. Average with nothing to wow about.

Fruitaste 创意酿豆腐火锅馆

Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsSuperbOpened in 30th March this year, Henry has used 6 months to come up with this innovative fruit-based dishes concept and another 2 months just to fine tune the taste. That is the perseverance shown by him and the taste approved by both our stomachs.
Ten28ight Boutique Cafe
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsExceptionalOverall, desserts here maintain their consistency on sugar level, which was not too sweet for consumption. With the generous portion that was given to us, I would say that it was quite worthy even if I were to pay the full price.
Batu Road Super Kitchen Chilly Pan Mee
Chilly pan mee is a normal bowl of stringy pan mee (flour noodles), topped with a poached egg, cooked mince pork, crispy anchovies (ikan bilis), fried onions with some spring onions.
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsExceptionalEgg yolk added the extra creamy texture to Pan Mee as if it just slipped down my throat. Add that with chili flakes that would escalate the spiciness in my taste bud. Not to mention crispy deep fried anchovies along with flavorful minced meat that were on their way deep down to my stomach. It was indeed an eating pleasure with everything harmonizing inside the mouth.

Namoo On The Park
Cheryl Chan Photography posted www.cherylchanphotography.com 81 ReviewsExceptionalDespite the very relaxing ambiance for a cup of coffee or a slice of cake while chilling out with friends, the cakes were not up to my expectation, or perhaps, it is just the Korean cake culture that this side of me could not comprehend. Shall go for the famous Rice Burger on next round and leave the cakes or any dessert with melted ice-cream behind.
