Hamasho Japanese Restaurant
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 5/10. Here's my check list on why Malaysians wouldn't favor dining here. I figured the restaurant is essentially tailor made to the Japanese crowd. My dining experience are merely based on personal preference.
Dao Xiang Chinese Restaurant
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7.5/10. Unlike a typical Chinese dinner, tonight's meal felt a little different - a hint more interesting and exquisite if I may just add. Customer service was top notch - someone does everything for you here, from the cooking, to the dunking and the serving.
Straits Food Company
Brand new fuss-free Peranakan restaurant, Straits Food Company brings you with some Malaysian fare.
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 6/10. Authentically Peranakan or not, I'm not entirely sure, but theres definitely a hint of Nyonya flavors in all of the dishes I had today.
Flingstones Cafe
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 6.5/10. Cozy ambiance and decent cafe food. I'd recommend the pork ribs, the full rack not the half - half is never enough. As for the artery-clogging chu yao zhar pasta, you can give that a miss.
Yellow Brick Road
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 8/10. Marvelous food and exciting brunch menu - they've got the key elements done right. Though they are still relatively new, customer service was good, everything seemed very well coordinated.
La Cafe Memoire – Coffee & Tea Pairing Desserts
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10. We really enjoyed our food today, especially the desserts, those were really good. Italian or French or not I'm too sure, but as long as it taste swag, I've got no complains. I would recommend the freshly made pastas and salads and don't forget the desserts!
La Bodega Malacca
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7.5/10. Oddly, the pintxos and paella that I had at La Bodega that evening, felt far more scrumptious than the ones I've had in town. It must be the Malaccan vibe or perhaps the holiday mood I was in - the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle of KL town.
Bakar
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 8.5/10. Today's feast at Bakar felt special. All the dishes I sampled, from the appetizer to the dessert, was marvelous.

Twenty One Grams
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10. The dishes I sampled today felt hearty and comforting. Being a new cafe, there are still some teething tweaks that can be improved on, but I'm sure things would work out on its own in the next couple of months.
D'Cuisine
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 8/10. I had a wonderful meal today. There's just something interesting and memorable about the dishes here. The basics were done right with sprinkles of icing sugar on top - if that metaphor serves me right.
Rendez-vous
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 8/10. I arrived that evening expecting an overpriced menu in finger food portions - like how'd we expect all French restaurants in town to be.
La Scala Italian Restaurant
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10. food was decent, not great, but good. Price wise - where else can you get a 3-course Italian fine-dining meal for 68 bucks?
Mei by Fat Spoon
spicysharon posted www.spicysharon.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7.5/10. I'm not surprised. I had a delicious meal here today. That said, our meal didn't come cheap, averaging at Rm60 per person. Whether its penny-worthy or not, perhaps not for me, but I'll let you be the judge.
