Spicy Sharon by spicysharon
Umai-Ya Japanese Restaurant
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 6/10. Many have asked, if I were to pick between the two Japanese restaurants in KLCC, which would I go for - I would without a doubt say, Yuzu (the other one).
Alexis Bistro
A nice chill-out place that serves pretty good food, especially desserts.
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10 for the Mix Berry Meringue. Although the cakes were slightly on the pricier side, I would still figured that because of the size of the cake and ingredients used, it was still worth paying Rm15 for a slice. Would definitely pay a visit to this place again just to try out the other cakes made available.
Grand Imperial Restaurant
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall rating: 8/10. Despite the meagre criticism, the meal was quite good also taking into account the price we paid for also. The interior decor /atmosphere come environment was a +1 as well. I guess this is one of those Chinese restaurant which is normally packed during festive season but not so on normal week nights.
Summer BBQ & Steamboat Restaurant 夏日火锅城
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall rating: 3/10 widely downgraded by cleanliness and hygiene. The freshness of the seafood was also questionable. The only good thing about this place compared to other all-you-can-eat steamboat restaurants is the huge thumbs up for being affordable and its complimentary BBQ services. $24 pax per person for walk-ins and 5% discount if booked the day before. Variety was also decent.
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant and Market
LCD screens showing Forrest Gump all around the place
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10 because of the food, environment, location and -0.5 for its price.
Dasarang Korean Restaurant
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 6.5/10. Pretty decently priced in my opinion, since the combo meal was actually made for 4 instead of 6. And all dishes came in very small portions too. The pork/chicken platter only had 5-6 slices of meat in it. In other words, 2 platters or meat, 10 slices of meat altogether. We did ordered a couple of extras. Since the combo meal only came with 3 glasses of juice, we had to order another 2 more. And friend ordered 2 bottles of sake/beer which cost rm5 each. That said, we cleared everything up and was satisfied with the portion.
Frontera Sol Of Mexico
The Frontera revolution and ongoing evolution began in June 2008 when a small group of fellow Mexican food aficionados opened Frontera Sol of Mexico (formerly known as Frontera Bar & Grill) @ the Palm Square, Jaya One in Petaling Jaya.
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall rating: 3.5/10 purely for the atmosphere but downgraded because of the food. This one dish was enough to kill my expectations of this place. The rice was dry and bland, the mexican beans was a bit too thick in consistency and looks like it has been sitting there for awhile. The chicken tortilla was okay but nothing to rave upon. Did not take pictures of friend's dishesbut they claimed that it wasn't that good either.
D'Italiane Kitchen
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10 for the food and atmosphere. I kind of like this place but I'm more keen on trying out the few other more talk-about Italian restaurants in Bangsar.
Popilla
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 4/10. I would only eat this again if I were to have seriously-unavoidable Mexican food cravings. Prices of tacos range from rm4.50 to rm4.90 (I think) per taco. Burrito cost slightly more at rm7.50 to rm13.90 for the salmon taco.
Dave's cafe
Surprisingly this place was popular with its pork ribs. They have so many kinds like baby back ribs, pork belly, pork knuckle and etc. Aside the ribs, they even had pastas, lasagnas, seafood platters and more.
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7.5/10 for the food and atmosphere and not to mention being strategically located inside 1 Utama. The bill came up to approximately Rm250 for 5 of us, slightly on the higher side but somewhat justified.
Daorae Korean Garden BBQ Restaurant
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 8/10 because of the delectable feast. While I was there, I noticeed that there was also a lot of Koreans dining there. They must be doing something-right since the natives like it there too. However, because the place gets really packed on weekends, hence, it tends to be a bit nosie. Despite the price, I was very satisfied with my meal. Will definitely revisit.
Ole-Ole Bali
The meal was worth it. A little pricey, but considering the portion, it is quite ok.
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 5/10. Food was decent but downgraded because of the price. Can't comment much since we only ordered 1 dish and a drink each.
Ten On Call
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating 6/10 for the food, environment and location. The selection of disehs was enough but lacking of typical and popular Malay street food like Ayam percik, Nasi Kerabu, Bubur kacang on the menu and considering the price per head for this buffet spread, I reckon they can expand the menu selection. If memory serves me right, it cost Rm99++ per head.
Andes
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 6.5/10 for the pork chop. In my personal opinion, this place is slightly overrated and is probably made popular by its pork burger only. That said, I will definitely revisit just to try that out.
Oriental Pavilion
The restaurant, part of the Oriental Chain (Ming Room, Noble House, Oriental, etc), is adequately ID-ed, not over the top, but still, it is basically a Chinese restaurant. The food however, is fairly consistent with their other outlets, which is usually of an acceptable standard.
spicysharon posted spicysharon.blogspot.com 315 ReviewsOverall Rating: 7/10 for the food and elegant atmosphere. Upgraded because of the Siew Yok and downgraded slightly because of the affordability factor. The bill came up to about Rm25 per head. I would only come back their signature dish ie. The Siew Yok. The rest of the Dim Sum(s) tasted, standard. I would very much prefer Jin Xuan, located in Damansara Jaya and Damansara Uptown.
