Ping Hooi Coffeeshop 檳園茶室
Go for the CKT and Lor Bak. If you still have space, go for the kuey teow th'ng.
I prefer char kuey teow that is not 'wet'. The consistency and the texture of the noodles is just right. The duck egg managed to enhance the aroma of this plate of simple char kuew teow with 3 reasonably big prawns!

Pitt Street Koay Teow Th'ng 椰腳粿條湯
Pitt Street Koay Teow Th’ng – the original Koay Teow Th’ng from Hai Oan coffee shop that located in Burmah Road. This stall was also awarded for a special award in year 2002.
I personally love the clear broth that is full of flavour. The 'fish balls' are made of mixture of fish and eels (鳗鱼), therefore you may notice that it may not be as 'bouncy' / 'chewy' as the ones made from 'ikan parang' (wolf herring aka 西刀鱼).

Jit Seng Hong Kong Roasted Duck Rice
The duck is real tender with so much of ingredients stuffed in it prior to roasting. The skin of the duck is coated with his special sauce which would include some molasses (Ba Lei Ko in Hokkien or Melaco in Portugese). The portion served is very generous.
Albeit the items here (including Roast Pork Belly/ Sio Bak) are priced higher than market rate but it is still one of the few places that you can enjoy a decent plate of Hong Kong Roast Duck Rice.

Teksen Restaurant

Aik Hoe Restaurant
Not a must visit restaurant for tourist but to the local staying around here, they just will not miss a single day without a nice dim sum and Chinese tea in this restaurant. It is already a part of their life.

Ling Mian Fang (琳面坊)
Prices are generally reasonable, though a little higher than those available in hawker centers but what Ling Mian Fang offers is a cleaner and spacious seating for its customers.

The Hokkien Loh Mee instead has dark starch broth with black vinegar in it and each bowl is cooked individually in a wok with egg added in the broth, yellow noodles, prawns, fish, fish cake slices and cabbages.

Tiger Koay Teow Th'ng 亞虎粿條湯
粿条微辣,喜欢吃辣的朋友可以特别交待加辣,觉得韭菜如果放更多的话,炒粿条会更香,所幸这里的大虾还真的很鲜又弹牙。

Kafe Fountain
Taste so good, less MSG, quite packed during the night, courteous and service very good (new management already since May 2010), boiled chicken or 'Pat cham Kai" and chicken leg tasted very nice.
Despite it tasted slightly different but it was still good to come back for this famous Carnarvon Street Koay Teow Th’ng.
