Nasi Dalca Rahim
The stall is selling since 1945 till to date. It have been called “Nasi Ganja” by locals due to the rice is very tasty. First timer who taste this rice usually will go for seconds. This is how they got the name. The rice is cooked with dal till soft and eaten with a bit of “CHATNI” which is a coconut paste mixed with spices. The taste of the rice is something like a rice porridge and the chicken are very very soft. Besides chicken they have an excellent mutton as well.

LEE ENG LAI, now in his late fifties, recalls that his grandfather Lee Kar Tee and grand uncle Lee Ah Keat started selling ice kacang as a roving stall in the Jalan Rangoon area in 1923. His father, Ah Kang (Kar Tee’s son), later inherited the stall and moved it to a permanent position. Eng Lai, his brother Eng Huat and sister Ah Kee (above) have been involved in running the stall since the 1960s, when it was next to a snooker bar. Originally, in the 1920s, a bowl of basic ice kacang cost half a cent, now it is RM1.50. Early in 2007, the stall moved into the new New World Park (Sin Sei Kai) food court opposite with ample parking.

The best rojak in Penang and most the customers are regulars. This rojak is eat in a different way. It is not meant to be mixed with sauce together. It it is good to eat by dipping the fruits or squid into the sauce and chuck up a bit the dried shrimp. Take away only.

Restoran Sri Paandi
The papadums served are fresh fried from the kitchen and you can still feel the heat. Curry wise is more diluted. But the taste is just nice. Service also is better due to their customer is not much. The shop owner or person in charge if never see you in their restaurant before, he will give you a bit of their chicken rendang or mutton rendang to try out on the house.

In SS2 every monday night, there are a stall which endorsed by 8TV Ho Chak show before and it taste really good when eaten hot. Caution!!! Do not put in the whole piece into your mouth. It is very hot inside.

Nice environment to take a short break after visiting so many stores in Mid Valley. All the sofa are PVC leather cushions and very comfortable.

Big Apple Donuts & Coffee
The concept of their business is very similiar with J.CO Donuts & Coffee in Pavillion KL. The logo of both company is differentiate by a lady for J.CO and a building for Big Apple. Box and price structure also is similiar. We don’t know who copy who but there are differences in the flavour of the donuts offered. In terms of service, Big Apple is better than J.CO. For my taste I prefer Big Apple more than J.CO because the donut are softer and taste better.
