I'd say Ishin is a pretty good recommendation for Japanese food that doesn't disappoint, I think maybe a close second to our favourite of Coco.Tei. While you have to mentally prepare yourself for a hefty bill, I suppose the quality of the food does make up for it, especially for the luxurious, fresh cuts of the sashimi served.

We finished dinner with some simple lychee-flavoured jelly on the house, and left feeling completely satiated from a good seafood meal, one of the better ones we've had in a long time.

We left Garage 51 feeling very letdown. We had a good catch-up session, but unfortunately, just not the best food or drink to go with it. Service is brisk, I honestly love the ambiance, but it just fell short for us (us being non coffee-drinkers, that is).

Would we return to The Good Batch again? I'd say so, there's a lot of other interesting, fusion-y dishes on the menu I'd like to try, including one Portobello Road, poached eggs with breaded portobellos, that I keep on hearing people raving about!

We do hope to see more buzz especially around Le French Wrap, since we think they do serve some pretty good stuff. We hear they'll be popping up in The Gardens pretty soon!

Food here tastes like its prepared with a lot of heart and passion. That, and the breakfast menu is reason enough for us both to return.
