Pig parts soup and smooth poached chicken rice served from a tiny standalone stall on a sidewalk in KL. Simple, rustic food that’s made very well and offered at extremely good prices.

Famous pork chop buns from Macau has arrived in Malaysia. The quality of the food is not exactly the same as the one in Macau, but is very close. And has the added advantage of being cheaper by the value of a return flight ticket.

Good-sized and beautifully cooked fried chicken which unfortunately is a bit lacking in flavour. The sides are awesome, though; it’s worth trying out just for the honey butter biscuits alone.

A tiny corner shop in 1U that’s serving up very flavourful one-dish Thai street food. Staff seems to be all Thai so their food should be pretty authentic. Most importantly, they serve pork – no half-assed chicken versions here!

Ipoh hor fun with a thoroughly enjoyable smooth, slippery texture. Lately, they’ve been cutting corners rather egregiously, but I’d still go for the hor fun and chicken. Damansara Perdana branch is less well-known, so there should be less waiting.
