The best chendol in Penang for years and still number 1

Superb

I found nothing too fantastic, but my wife love it. Still a nice drink under the hot sun, standing and eating by the road side is an experience, and very affordable.

Business Hour Closed on Thursdays. Opens from 11am until 4pm.

Some other notable dishes here include the boiled baby octopus, duck’s offal, steamed or deep fried fishes, and of course, you must always sample a bowl of their plain rice porridge which has been cooked to a creamy consistency and placed in a giant claypot; almost resembling a huge flower pot.

CRC restaurant is one of the most famous Chinese restaurants in Penang, the restaurant is located at Chinese Recreation Club (CRC) along Macalister Road and Burmah Road. In order to have this dish (Buddha Jump Over Wall), we need to call in a week before for reservation as it takes sometimes for the chef to prepare the ingredients and cook.

Exceptional

Chinese Recreation Club Restaurant or better known as CRC Restaurant in Padang Victoria, Penang is nothing new to the folks in Penang. Numerous wedding dinners, company functions, and family "makan-makan" have been held here throughout the years, In fact I've been here a couple of times in the past, and the food has always managed to please me.

Whatever it is, do NOT miss their Or Nee; the ubiquitous Teochew dessert of yam paste, stirred with a good tasty dose of lard oil and sugar, then topped with some mashed pumpkin and ginkgo nuts. A rather sinful way to end a meal, but that’s what desserts are for, right?
