We think Chee Kong Roast Pork is a must-visit in Ipoh. And due to its odd business operation hours, you might need to arrange your meal time to accommodate a vacant stomach to savour these pork delicacies and all its goodness.

Restoran Yat Yat Bat Tauge Ayam (118)
Clean, spacious, with an area designated for the heat-intolerant ones (we were) blasting with air-cond, 118 proved to be one hell of a contender.
Restoran Hong Xing Dim Sum
They had "Lau Sar Pau". It's pau with Custard and salted egg yolk filings. Mamarazzi said tasted good.

Hakka Mee Stall @ Jalan Pasir Puteh
This Hakka mee stall opens only in the mornings, and sell off pretty quick. We had to give their yong tau foo a miss since everything was sold off before 10am!
Hakka Mee Stall @ Pusat Makanan MX
Very reasonable, given the quality of the ingredients, the name behind the noodles and the comfort of a new premise spanning two lots; and upholstered chairs covered with leather!
Teo Chiew Restaurant
Pretty reasonable given the quality of the dishes served and the scarcity of some of those. The service was very pleasant too, with the owner himself walking over and starting up a lengthy conversation, and even the ladies serving us were rather courteous.
Chooi Yue Dim Sum
Will I be back? Most definitely. Since that scallop dumplings alone was well worth the effort.
Restoran Ipoh Hometown
Okay, next round will try one of the MANY types of freshwater fishes they offer. The trade-off? PRICE, of course. Let me get back to you after the next visit.
Chee Cheong Fun Stall
Her mushroom gravy (‘tung koo chap’) pales in comparison to some of the better ones; being slightly watery and not laden with earthy, robust flavours of the chopped shiitake mushrooms.

This area could be the BEST place (aside from Ipoh old town, maybe) in Ipoh for food hunting.

I think this place is alright. Good for certain dishes but must improve on size ( reduction that is ) and also making sure that ingredients used are fresh.
