My boyfriend and I love turnip cake and we jumped upon savouring The Ming Room's turnip cake. It isn't anything close to those you find in normal Dim Sum houses but this emits a taste that is carefully and slowly fried till perfection. It is smooth, soft and dominated by radish. I sometimes fret when turnip cakes do not have the radish taste but this did not disappoint me.

It would probably be very humid and uncomfortable considering our country's tropical climate but with some the shades provided, we felt utterly cosy with a slight blanket of breeze. Priced reasonably with a satisfactory portion of scrambled eggs, sausages, diced potatoes, hash brown, toast and baked beans, this indeed hearty dish provides an all-round combo that you need to satisfy your hunger. But few items are not very well-executed - scrambled eggs are bland with a slight lack of butter and taste, diced potatoes aren't served warm (as if have been pre-cooked for some time without heating) and toast is just a plain piece of bread (not even toasted I guess). It would be more satisfying if these items are refined.
San Nae Deul Korean BBQ

The rest of the menu is also extensively filled with Korean delicacies such as jiggae, fried rice, soups, and many more. The marinated chicken slices were served raw for barbecuing on the table itself. The marination was sufficient and flavourful, satisfactorily good when wrapped in lettuce with the Korean sauce. The grilling hot pan is imported from Korea to provide intense heat and immediate cooking. Plus, it doesn't emit much smoke hence it doesn't require any exhaust pipe protruding from the ceiling (which very often seems to take up ample of space and pretty annoying) for ventilation purposes. It is advisable that grilling be done with care and it doesn't take more than a couple of minutes for your meat to reach its optimum cookedness so over-grilling will cause parts of your meat to be charred. If you aren't confident of barbecuing yourselves, seek assistance from San Nae Deul's team of servers who are very adept at grilling for you.

You can choose to savour it with brown rice, pumpkin noodles or rice noodles. Being served in a stone bowl, it is certainly sizzling hot and tongue-burning. While it may appear very plain and dominated by greens and other vegetables, the soup is rather flavourful and it's very appetizing for those who wish to warm their stomachs. The portion is huge too, I don't think any average eater could finish it single-handedly.

For those who have great passion in pork liver and pork intestine (satay style), this is the stall that you can't miss! The specialty of this satay stall is its peanut sauce and mix with some pineapple and in turn create a sour n spicy taste! At this stall, you dont have to order how many stick you want as they will keep on "refilling".

All satays are served along with cucumber and onion, ketupat (rice dumpling) and of course the satay sauce. Sun May Hiong's satay is priced at RM0.70 per stick as of November 2013 (price is subject to increment as time goes by as it was RM0.60 in 2012). Another hit here is the internal organs satay. For those who like, it is heavenly awesome but for those who do not consume organs, it is a total turn-off. It really depends on the individual. For me, it is definitely worthy of a try!
